Many complaints about inappropriate or suspicious behavior with more than 20 boys dating to 1988. Remained active as chaplain at a nursing home for nuns until the 2005 Grand Jury Report. Removed by the Archdiocese. Additional complaint, of abuse in the 1960s, was substantiated; placed on permanent leave in 8/2007. Laicized in 2017. New suit in 5/2011. Included on a secret Archdiocesan list in 1994. Arrested 9/25/2013 after a report of abuse for four years in the late 1990s of a boy, beginning when the boy was age 11. Released on bail. Charges dropped. The alleged victim died 10/16/2013 at age 26 of a drug overdose. Family filed a civil suit in 11/2013. Settled in 6/2018. Arrested in 9/2019, charged with lying to the FBI when he said he didn’t know the victim who had died or his family. Pleaded guilty in 11/2021. Sentenced in 3/2022 to five years probation.
