Fr. Robert M. Timchak
Arrested in 10/2009 on 16 counts of possession of child pornography. An investigation began in 12/2008 when the Diocese notified the District Attorney’s office of an anonymous letter regarding Timchak’s improper use of computer. In 2006, Timchak took a one year leave of absence. Sent to treatment. Pleaded guilty in 8/2010 to 17 counts of child pornography possession and downloading the same. Sentenced in 11/2010 to 6 to 72 months in state prison, fined, and ordered to register as sex offender. Released in 6/2012 on parole; worked for a nonprofit; on leave without faculties. Laicized 1/24/2014. In the 8/14/2018 the PA Grand Jury Report. Included on the Diocese’s list 8/19/2018. Arrested again in 10/2022 after allegedly downloading videos of children engaged in sex acts.
