Fr. Shawn Francis Ratigan
                                In 5/2010 a school principal complained of Ratigan’s behavior. He was not removed from St. Patrick until 12/2010, after child pornography was found on his laptop computer. He attempted suicide. Assigned to say mass for nuns. A police report was filed in 5/2011. Ratigan was arrested 5/19/2011. Multiple lawsuits. Some civil suits settled, including one for $1.3M. Two more settled in 2/2014 for $1.8M. In 2013 Ratigan pleaded guilty to federal pornography charges. On 9/11/2013 he was sentenced to 50 years in prison; in 10/2013 he was sentenced on state charges to three 7-year sentences. He was laicized in 1/2014. A Federal Appeals Court upheld the 50-year sentence 07/24/2014. Included on the Diocese’s list 9/5/2019.
