Convicted of DWI in 2009. Tried to pick up teenage boys. Sentenced to 90 days in jail; served four days and two years supervised probation. Removed in 6/2012 from his parish after a complaint of misconduct with two minors. Arrested 6/22/2012 on charges of sexual assault. One youth told police the abuse was over two years. Criminal charges filed in  9/2012. Child pornography charges were filed in 10/2012. Pleaded guilty 11/8/2012. Permanently removed from ministry in 11/2012. Sentenced to 5 years prison 2/1/2013. Included in 12/2013 on the Archdiocese’s list of credibly accused. A new lawsuit was filed 1/30/2014. Information from his personnel file was released 3/31/2014. Charged in 11/2014 with sex assault in WI. Laicized in 3/2015. The county criminally charged the Archdiocese on 6/5/2015 with failing to protect children in Wehmeyer’s abuse of three minors. A civil motion was filed also; settled in 12/2015. Charges against the Archdiocese were dropped in  7/2016 in a settlement agreement. The Archdiocese admitted wrongdoing. Three brothers abused by Wehmeyer filed suit against the Vatican in 5/2019.
