Bankruptcy Protection in the Abuse Crisis

Eleven U.S. Catholic dioceses have filed for bankruptcy protection during the ongoing sexual abuse crisis in the Catholic church. The Oregon Province of the Jesuits and the Congregation of the Christian Brothers have also filed. On this page we assemble basic information and documents on each of these bankruptcy filings, as well as general information on the process and the issues involved.
