BishopAccountability.org has launched a project to gather and post the assignment records of every U.S. Catholic priest who has been accused of sexual abuse since 1940, so that vulnerable communities can be identified and bishops' transfer policies can be determined.

See below for a brief description of assignment records and their importance, easy ways that you can help with this project, and our initial list of assignment records. For a more detailed account of assignment record research and how you can volunteer, see our guide.

Assignment Records: Why They Are Important

An assignment record lists all the diocesan and parish appointments of a priest, including telltale periods of sick leave. A detailed assignment record, like this assignment record of John Geoghan created by the Boston Globe, identifies populations that have been placed at risk, and is also cross-referenced with a list of accusations, so that the transfer policies of the priest's bishops can be evaluated. By identifying a priests' seminary class and the colleagues with whom he has worked, an assigment record can also begin to identify the circle of colleagues who kept the priest's activities secret and who might even have been involved in the abuse themselves.

But these records are dispersed and difficult to find, and complete assignment records for most accused priests are not publicly available. We urge the U.S. bishops to publish detailed assignment records with treatment episodes and accusation dates for every abuser. In the meantime, we are undertaking this work of research and collection ourselves. See our initial collection of assignment records below.

The staff at BishopAccountability.org has begun to assemble a library of assignment records for accused priests and others who figure in the crisis.Some we have developed ourselves from the Official Catholic Directory, diocesan documents, and investigative reports. Others were created by lawyers and investigative reporters. Others were created by the dioceses themselves and relinquished under subpoena, or were prepared by the dioceses in response to investigation by law enforcement.

Named as a perpetrator of abuse in a 12/02 settlement of $542.5K between the diocese and six people claiming abuse by five priests. Accused of abuse of a girl, ages 15-17, multiple times 1955-1957. Also accused of one instance of abuse of a 12-year-old boy in 1950. Vadeboncoeur died at some time prior to the settlement. (The 1988 Catholic Directory spells his name Va'de'bon'Coeur and in 1995 it is Vade Bon Coeur. It has been misspelled in other sources as Vandenboncoeur.)

Fr. Anthony Joseph Vader

Diocese: Archdiocese of Chicago IL

Allegations received in Fall 2002. Placed on leave in 2/03 after allegations that he abused minor females more than 40 years before at Holy Cross parish (1st assignment). Resided in a "monitored and restricted setting" after Archdiocese permanently removed his privileges in 9/05. Vatican agreed but did not laicize him. Name included on 6/03 list of 23 priests whom Archdiocese confirmed had credible accusations against them of sexual abuse of a minor. Two women filed civil suit in 5/09 after futile mediation. Died in 7/11.

Fr. Robert C. Vaillancourt

Ordained: 1982
Status: Accused

Diocese: Diocese of Portland ME

On 7/5/21 the Diocese announced that Vaillancourt had been placed on leave pending the investigation of an allegation that he had sexually abused a girl in the 1980s. Director in the late 1980s of Diocesan Youth Ministry. Pastor at the time of his suspension of St. Brendan the Navigator in Camden, ME. Vaillancourt denied wrongdoing. Reportedly in 9/21 a second woman had come forward, alleging Vaillancourt raped and sexually assaulted her repeatedly in 1982, when she was 15. He was in charge of youth ministry at St. Andre's in Biddeford during the time in question.


Fr. Paul R. Valdez

Ordained: 1982
Status: Settled

Diocese: Diocese of Monterey CA

Report in 2002 that an 11-year-old girl told a nun in 1999 that Valdez had placed his hand on her groin during confession 12/98. Teacher and the principal embarrassed the child in class, played down the incident to CPS and warned students not to tell anyone. Police conducted a six-month investigation; no charges filed. Parents sued the diocese in 12/99; suit settled out of court. Valdez was still active in 2010. On diocese's list 1/2/19. It notes allegation reclassified in 2019 from non-credible to credible and faculties removed.

Fr. Robert J. Valentine

Diocese: Diocese of Bridgeport CT

Name included on the diocese's list 3/22/19 of clergy on whose behalf settlements were paid related to allegations of sexual abuse of minors. The allegations against Valentine were not determined to be credible. He was accused of the sexual abuse of a girl, age 17, in 1984. Absent without leave in 1999, faculties withdrawn in 2001.

Fr. James P. Vallely

Ordained: 1949
Status: Settled

Diocese: Diocese of Portland ME

Ordained for the Archdiocese of Portland OR in 1949; moved to Portland ME diocese in 1951, incardinated 1952. At least five allegations of abuse of boys, per docs released by ME AG's office in 5/05. Four were said to be in ME 1956-62. Privileges removed and abuse publicly acknowledged in 1993 after one accusation. A woman told pastor of St. Michael's church in 1994 (and later) that she had been abused at age 11. She settled for $200K in 12/09 for 1976 abuse. Vallely retired in 1988; died 12/12/97. Three more accusers emerged in 12/09. Two men filed suits in 5/13. On 11/23/15 six men filed civil suits vs the Portland ME diocese alleging abuse by Vallely 1958-77. All were altar boys, ages ranging 8-15 during alleged abuse. The diocese settled with the six men 8/15/16 for $1.2 million.

Admitted abusing two boys. Diocese settled one claim in 4/05 for an undisclosed amount. A man said that as a child Valliere would give him beer and marijuana at the rectory. Valliere's file included a 1976 letter from a parent complaining about drunk youths at the rectory. Placed on sick leave in 1989 after complaints by three women in his parish. On sick leave 4/1/89 - 6/20/90 for therapy. Assigned to another parish. On sick leave again 1/26/96 until he retired in 6/01. Privileges removed in 2002. Laicized and deceased, per the diocese's list 7/31/19.

Fr. Patrick B. Vallimont

Ordained: 1974
Status: Accused

Diocese: Diocese of Erie PA

Vallimont's name was added to the diocese's list 5/18/18. Hospitalized for severe depression in 9/76. Wrote to the Vatican 7/77, requesting laicization and disclosing a brief sexual relationship he had had with a 13-year-old girl, who was a parishioner. Laicized, last known to be living in Union City, PA.

Fr. William Valverde

Ordained: 1962
Status: Settled

Diocese: Diocese of San Diego CA

Named in a 12/03 civil suit filed by two men who alleged that in the mid-1970s Valverde exposed them and others to "alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and deviant sex." Included on list of priests with credible allegations released by the San Diego diocese 3/30/07. Also worked in the San Bernardino diocese. Assigned in as chaplain in 1977 to a psychiatric hospital in Patton, CA. Per a 1977 news article, in addition to parish assignments, Valverde helped organize community counseling centers in several towns and worked with "delinquent" youths. Left active priesthood in 1983. Through clerical errors, these two plaintiffs were NOT included in the 2007 San Diego settlement; their lawsuit still existed until settlement reached 4/08.

Fr. Michael R. Van Acker

Diocese: Diocese of Peoria IL

Medical center chaplain and former chaplain at several high schools. Placed on leave in 6/02 when diocese received allegations that he engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor in the early 1980s. Reportedly went on leave of absence in 1992 prior to his assignment to the medical center. On diocese's list in 12/18.

Fr. Benedict Van der Putten

Ordained: 1992
Status: Accused

Diocese: Diocese of San Jose CA

Member of the traditionalist Society of St. Pius X, which is not recognized by Roman Catholic Church nor overseen by the San Jose diocese. Retreat master at St. Aloysius Retreat House in Los Gatos 1995- 2000. Accused of molesting a teen girl there in 2000, and attempting to molest another. Sent by Society to its Switzerland headquarters. Worked briefly in the Diocese of Scranton in 2001, applied to be a priest of the diocese; denied after Vatican alerted the diocese to the Los Gatos allegations. Sent to Southdown Institute in Canada for treatment; admitted to molesting a teen girl in 2001 in Europe. Laicization announced 8/05. Moved at some point to Hawaii. On Scranton diocese's list 8/19/18. Per a 2/21 news report, Van der Putten married, had four children, divorced and moved to Oklahoma.

Fr. Bernard Van der Schueren

Diocese: Diocese of Marquette MI

From Belgium. Died7/25/09. Diocese of Marquette announced 11/15/13 that it had received a credible allegation of abuse of a minor by Fr. Ben in 1989 while he filled in at St. Michael Parish in Marquette. Allegation was reported to the Jesuits and to the county prosecutor's office. On the Jesuits Midwest Province list 12/17/18.

Fr. Robert M. Van Handel

Status: Convicted

Diocese: Archdiocese of San Francisco CA

Founding director of Santa Barbara Boys' Choir and principal of St. Anthony's Seminary High School. May have sexually abused 150 boys, ages 8-12. Charged 1994 with abuse of students. Sentenced 8/94 to eight years prison for abuse of one. Released in 2002. Named in several civil suits. Reportedly abused six 1970-82. Four claims settled 2006. Registered sex offender. Personnel File released 5/12; may have been laicized 7/23/97. On sex offender register 1/12. On Santa Barbara Province Franciscans' list 5/31/19. It notes report in 1992 of abuse of minors 1977-84. On Oakland diocese's list in 2019.

Fr. Chrisian Van Liefde

Ordained: 1973
Status: Sued

Diocese: Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA

In 1992 a woman reported inappropriate sexual conduct toward her by Van Liefde when she was a minor 1973-74. Placed on leave in 2002. Another allegation in 2003. Sued in 2003. Per LA archdiocese's 2004 report, there were two accusers, alleging abuse 1971-75.

Fr. Arthur Van Speybroeck

Named publicly as accused by the Salina diocese on its list 3/29/19. Multiple allegations. Report to the diocese in 1907 of abuse the same year. Van Speybroeck left the Salina diocese sometime after 1908. On the Diocese of Wichita's list 9/20/19; worked in the diocese 1902, "Out of Diocese" 1902-43. Three Wichita assignments 1943. Retired in 1943. Died in 1948. Included in the FL A.G.'s report 11/6/20 (name spelled "Speybroek").

Diocese: Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA

Accused of abuse 1962-64. Left the L.A. archdiocese in 1970. Accuser came forward in 2002 to allege abuse in about 1961, when he was ages 3-5. Named in archdiocesan report. Named in a civil suit. At least one claim included in 11/06 $10M settlement with order, LA archdiocese and 7 people alleging abuse by five priests and religious. Deceased.

Named publicly as accused by the Franciscans' Santa Barbara Province on its list 5/31/19. It notes allegations received in 1994 of the sexual abuse of minors 1949-79. Varela's first assignment was in 1949, in AZ. He died in 2002. On the Oakland diocese's list in 2019. Added to the Stockton diocese's list 11/12/20, where he worked 1955-60.

Possibly from Hungary - first assignment there. Worked in Cleveland OH and McKeesport, PA in 1950. Assigned in 1956 to a Gary parish. Taught at Bishop Noll High School in Hammond. Incardinated into the Diocese of Gary 9/28/67. Named as accused on Gary diocese's list released 8/29/18. Noted to have one allegation against him. Laicized 7/28/71. Went on to marry and have children. Longtime resident of Cedar Lake, IN. Died at age 82 on 7/12/06.

Fr. Lawrence F. Varney

Diocese: Diocese of Toledo OH

Diocese announced in 10/08 that Varney, who retired in 2002, had been placed on leave and barred from public ministry after the Review Board found allegations that he had engaged in sexual misconduct with a minor in the late 1970s to be credible. Accuser had recently come forward. Varney was an instructor at Toledo Central Catholic High School at the time of the alleged abuse. Permanently removed from public ministry in 2009. Matter referred to Rome.

Fr. John Varno

Diocese: Diocese of Albany NY

"Jack." Arrested in 1997 for public lewdness at a rest area; went on leave. Accused in a lawsuit filed 1/19/21 under the NY Child Victims Act by a man in his 40s of sexually abusing him as a child preparing for First Communion at St. Jude's in Wynantskill. Varno allegedly got the boy drunk on wine then fondled and sodomized him. The diocese kept Varno in public ministry until his parishioners of Our Lady of Grace in Ballston Lake discovered the lawsuit and demanded his removal in 7/21. Varno stepped down voluntarily, including from assignments at Immaculate Conception in Glenville and St. Joseph's in Scotia. He denied the allegations.


Fr. Anthony J. Vasaturo

Per personnel records released in 1/04, Vasaturo allegedly admitted to sexual activity with a 16-year-old old girl beginning in 1969. Per the Archdiocese website accessed 9/30/10, Vasaturo had senior priest status and was residing at Regina Cleri Residence. The 8/11 Boston AD database shows review board found accusations unsubstantiated or he was acquitted by canonical process. Died 6/22/13.

Fr. Frederick J. Vaughn

Status: Accused

Diocese: Diocese of Harrisburg PA

The diocese acknowledged in 2016 that it had received multiple allegations against Vaughn of sexual abuse of young girls. In 4/02 a woman said he molested her two daughters when they were about age 9, 1961-66. In 7/02 he was accused of sexually abusing two sisters, one ages 3-13 during 1961-74, the other when she was 5-10, in 1958-63. Another report 7/04 claimed abuse of a girl, age 11 or 12 in 1958; in 8/04 a report of abuse of another girl. In 5/12 another allegation, of abuse of a girl 1959-63. In 2016 a woman reported abuse at age 11, and that she witnessed Vaughn's abuse of other girls. Name included on the diocese's list released 8/1/18. Included in the PA Grand Jury Report 8/14/18. Vaughn retired in 1986 and died 12/29/92.

Diocese: Diocese of Saint Cloud MN

Dismissed from Order 9/27/01. As part of 2/09 settlement, Order admitted that it had received credible allegations of child sex abuse committed by him. Note that none of the plaintiffs in the 2/09 settlement was an alleged victim of Vaughn. As of 3/10 he was at an Orthodox-Catholic Church of America Parish in New York. Name on list of priests released by Archdiocese 12/5/13 but AD denied any claims of abuse of minor within Archdiocese. Name on St Cloud list of 1/3/14 and Crosier list of 3/8/14. Named in suit filed in 7/15.

Fr. Clarence J. Vavra

Diocese: Diocese of Rapid City SD

Per admission by Archbishop Nienstedt of St. Paul-Minneapolis on 11/11/13, Vavra admitted in 1995 that he sexually abused young boys and a teen in 1975 while assigned to Rosebud Indian Reservation in SD. Also admitted sex with adult men. Received in-patient and out-patient treatment 1996-97; allowed to return to ministry in 1998 until his removal in 2003. He received an extra stipend every month until 2012. No publicity at all until 11/13. Last known to be living in New Prague, MN.

Fr. Urbano Vazquez-Ortega

Diocese: Archdiocese of Washington DC and MD

Accused of molesting a 13-year-old girl at Sacred Heart Shrine in Columbia Heights in 5/15. The girl's mother reportedly informed Rev. Mosis Villalta, OFM.Cap. in 2015; police were not notified until 10/26/18, after Villalta told a visiting priest about the situation. Arrested 11/7/18, charged with second-degree child abuse. Also accused of kissing a 16-year-old girl in 2015, and of rubbing a 15-year-old girl's leg during confession the same year. Archdiocese suspended Vazquez after notified by Order of allegations 10/26/18. Removed as pastor. Parish's child protection coordinator placed on leave. Arrested on new allegations 12/11/18, of abuse of a girl starting when she was age 9. On Baltimore archdiocese's list 12/14/18. Indicted in 5/19 on 7 counts of sex abuse of 2 children and a woman. Convicted in 8/19. Motion for a new trial in 9/19; denied. Sentenced in 11/19 to 15 years in prison.

Fr. Vincent J. Veich

Diocese: Diocese of Bridgeport CT

Placed on leave 4/02 after a woman alleged he had abused her as a minor. He admitted sexual misconduct with the then 17-year-old girl in the late 1970s. Claim(s) against Veich settled by diocese as part of massive $21M settlement in 10/03 involving 40 plaintiffs and 16 priests.

Fr. Roland W. Veilette

Diocese: Diocese of Manchester NH

Veilette (or Veillette) died in 1983. Named in a 5/02 lawsuit by a man who alleged Vielette abused him in 1973. Personnel file contains a 2/02 memo in which the plaintiff said he was assaulted by Veilette and another priest in 1973, shortly after his father passed away. Both priests were said to have befriended him and would take him camping and give him gifts. A second man filed suit in 6/02 alleging that he was assaulted by Veilette from 1956 to 1958, and that the incidents occurred in the priest's car.

Left El Paso TX diocese in 1990 under a cloud. In 1991 Monterey Diocese learned of the abuse of a youth by Velez and another priest, and met with the victim and his family. Diocese expelled Velez and notified his Order. Order recalled Velez to Mexico, sending an escort to ensure his return. Diocese says civil authorities were notified in 1991. Sued 2003 by this plaintiff. Accused of abuse in Monterey and Tucson. Monterey case settled 5/09 for $1.2M just before trial. On Monterey diocese's list 1/2/19. It notes he is deceased.

Fr. Jorge Antonio Velez-Lopez

Diocese: Archdiocese of Baltimore MD

Tertiary Capuchin. Colombian. Worked in Colombia and U.S. Suspended from ministry in Diocese of Alexandria in 2/16 pending investigation of allegations of sexual misconduct with a female minor during 8-year period while assigned to Baltimore archdiocese. Left Baltimore in 2010. Admitted the allegations. The two had a child together, later married. On Alexandria diocese's list 2/6/19 (name spelled "Valez-Lopez.") Case sent to Vatican. On Baltimore's list updated 7/23/19.

Fr. Joseph P. Veneto

Supervised accused priest Denis Conte while at St. Anthony's in Revere. Included on a list of accused priests and religious posted by the Law Offices of Mitchell Garabedian on 01/19/11. Garabedian said he had settled at least one claim with the Boston Archdiocese regarding allegations against this individual. Retired in 1988. Diedin 1/98 before completion of investigation. See Boston AD database released 8/11.

Fr. Samuel J. Venne

Ordained: 1978
Status: Accused

Diocese: Diocese of Buffalo NY

Retired, in residence at St. Stephen's on Grand Island when placed on leave in 4/18 due to allegations of past child sex abuse, dating to 1980 at Our Lady of Pompei in Depew. Reportedly accused twice. Other assignments included parishes in Buffalo, Batavia, South Buffalo, Niagara Falls, a Pendleton nursing home and Boy Scouts chaplain and scoutmaster. Per the diocese in 6/18, the allegations against Venne were substantiated. To remain on leave pending determination by Vatican. Venne denied the allegations. Removed from diocesan payroll 5/1/20 in bankruptcy agreement. In 11/20 the Vatican suspended Venne for 7 years. Venne appealed the Vatican's decision. Refusing in 6/21 to join the diocese's monitoring program for credibly accused priests.

Fr. Armand Ventre

Status: Acquitted

Diocese: Diocese of Providence RI

Assigned to our Lady of Good Help Parish 1980-1985. Indicted 8/85 for sexually molesting two altar boys and one mentally handicapped youth 1981-1984. In 1986 the judge dismissed the charges concerning the two altar boys; the following day the judge found Ventre not guilty of abuse of the third boy in a non-jury trial. Returned to active assignment as chaplain at VA Hospital, and then another hospital. Retired 1/99. Died 12/27/99. On the diocese's list 7/1/19. It notes only that he was removed from ministry 7/5/85.

Named publicly as accused by the Jesuits Central and Southern Province on its list 12/7/18. Died in 1980. Allegation received after his death of abuse in the 1950s. Unclear as to where. Worked or resided in Prairie du Chien, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Centennial, CO; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT.

Br. Gino Vertassich

Status: Accused

Diocese: Archdiocese of Cincinnati OH

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Glenmary order on its list 10/11/19. Joined Glenmary in 1960, left in 1975. Worked in GA, NC, OH. Deceased. No indication where or when alleged abuse occurred. On the Charlotte diocese's list 12/29/19. It notes an allegation that Vertassich abused a minor in Connecticut in 1969, without further specifics. (Placing him in the Cincinnati archdiocese, where the Glenmary Home Missioners are based.)

Fr. Henry G. Vessels

Diocese: Archdiocese of Louisville KY

Lawsuit filed in 10/02 named Vessels as an abuser. Suit said Vessels abused a 12-year-old boy in Mount Washington 1969-70. Vessels would allegedly take the boy to pornographic movies and on one occasion forcibly sexually molested him. Vessels spent several years as a teacher and administrator at parish schools. Died in 1980 at age 55.

Fr. Henry Xavier Vetter

Diocese: Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA

Accused in 1993 of abuse in the early 1960s. Several other accusations later received of abuse in the 1960s and early 1970s. May have worked in Mexico after leaving the L.A. archdiocese. Deceased. Per 2004 archdiocesan report, there were 7 accusers, of abuse occurring 1953-73. Named in at least one suit in 2003. Added to the KC-St Joseph list; one substantiated allegation of abuse in the diocese noted.

Fr. Paul Vevik

Diocese: Diocese of Spokane WA

Reportedly in 5/07, Vevik, an active priest of the Spokane Diocese, was named in bankruptcy claims as having "assaulted a person in a restroom of Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral in 1978." Vevik denied the claims and was fighting the accusations. Pastor of Mary Queen Parish in Spokane per diocesan website accessed 2/4/21.

Fr. James A. Viall

Diocese: Diocese of Cleveland OH

Placed on leave 7/02 for allegations of misconduct with minors. A former altar boy filed suit on 7/20/02. Another adult male came forward to allege abuse as an altar boy. One of the men said he was abused in mid-1950s; the other alleged abuse in the 1970s.As of 9/11/02, Child Protection Services found no evidence to support abuse allegations but Diocese continued its investigation. Retired 2005, still without privileges.On Leave of Absence until his death 7/18/18.

Sr. Mary Jane Vidnansky

Plaintiff said Vidnansky told him she was pregnant by him and that she had had an abortion. Vidnansky left the order in the mid-1970s.

Fr. Fernando Villalobos

A 2/03 civil RICO suit alleged that Villalobos abused a boy, ages 12-15, in 1980-83, while at at St. Mary's in Stockton, and that then-Bishop Mahony and other diocese officials covered it up. Another suit filed 11/03 alleged abuse at the same parish. Shortly before died 12/31/85, Villalobos also allegedly attempted to abuse the plaintiff's brother. [Note: this may be two suits by same plaintiff.] Name included on list of claimed abusers attached to Stockton diocese's 5/9/14 filing in bankruptcy court. On the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans list 5/31/19, noting allegations received 2004, 2014 and 2018 of abuse 1979-83. Suit filed in 12/19 claiming abuse of a boy, age 16, in 1979.

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 1/20 under the NY Child Victims Act of sexually abusing a boy, age 15 or 16, in the late 1960s. The boy was an Archbishop Stepinac High School student, where Vincent was assigned 1966-72. Per the lawsuit, Vincent "sat on [the boy's] lap, touched him and made 'sexual contact' in front of other students." The Crosier Review Committee determined that it did "not believe this accusation fits the definition of sexual abuse of a minor as stated by the Conference of Major Superiors of Men."

Name included on Gallup diocese's list of credibly accused clerics in 1/15. Gallup diocese filed for bankruptcy in 2013 after lawsuit claiming 57 victims. Viramontes assigned to Aragon NM, Flagstaff, Winslow and Holbrook AZ. Died in 1997. On Las Cruces diocese's list 11/8/18. It notes a report received in 2012 of an alleged incident in 1997.

Accused in 2006 of abuse in the Joliet diocese in 1980-81. Not included on Joliet diocese's list of confirmed abusers released 4/09/06. Civil suit filed 5/06. Worked in Joliet, Rockford and Peoria dioceses. Joliet settled suit as of 9/07. Left Joliet and incardinated into Peoria in 1988. Peoria diocese removed his privileges in 2006. Canonical process pending 4/14. Joliet diocese agreed to release of personnel files 3/13 as part of settlement in Rudofski v Joliet & Bennett. Files released 4/30/14. On Rockford diocese's list 11/14/18. Noted to have been removed from ministry by Peoria and Rockford in 2/06. Per Joliet list updated 12/18, "on leave," canonical process still pending. On the Peoria diocese's list as of 2/20.

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Jesuits Northeast Province on its list 1/15/19. It notes reports in 1980 and the 2000s of abuse of minors 1960-80. Worked at McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester 1962-65 and 1968-69, and at Regis High School in New York 1969-80. Voelkle left the Jesuits in 1985 and died in 2016. Named in a lawsuit filed in 7/20.

Caught in a sting ordering child pornography for delivery to the Holy Rosary rectory, where he was pastor. Inspectors found 92 videos in a trunk in the rectory, many of them 'extremely graphic and explicit child porn.' Resigned 12/8/95; convicted and sent to prison for a year. As of 2008, Vogler was lead priest at Holy Trinity parish, director of diocese's deacon program, and member of the priests' council. Retired 9/2/11 per diocese website accessed 2/26/12. Allowed active ministry until removed 2/19/19, just before the diocese released its list of credibly accused clerics.On the diocese's list 2/22/19.

Accused in 3/02 during AG investigation of repeated sexual abuse of a 12-year-old boy in 1982 at Camp Don Bosco in NH. Voglio was a counselor at the camp. Abuse included oral sex. Later in 1982, Voglio wrote to the alleged victim from OH, saying that he was going on to become a priest. A John Voglio was ordained a Salesian priest in 1987 and worked in a Salesian HS and a parish in NY archdiocese. Investigative memo does not confirm that brother and priest are the same person. John Voglio is included on the NY archdiocese's list 4/26/19. The Salesian and NY priest appear to be the same. The list notes Voglio was removed from ministry and laicized. Included in 3/20 on Salesians list.

Prior of St. Albert's Priory, Chapel and Seminary in Oakland CA; Director Shrine of St. Jude in San Francisco.Taught high school in OR and in Los Angeles CA. Former pastor and prior of Holy Rosary parish in Portland OR. Accused in a 2/16 lawsuit of the sexual abuse of a 10-year-old boy altar boy in 1987. Plaintiff said he told other priests who told him he must obey Vogt. Vogt denied the abuse. The plaintiff dropped the suit in 5/17 after his brothers testified that they were altar boys with him, and that there was no abuse.

Fr. Eugene Vollmer

Accused by two people in 3/02. Both said they had previously reported abuse to the diocese, but nothing was done. One said he reported abuse when it occurred and again in 1991. Another said he reported it in 1994. Vollmer still active until 2002. He was identified as Priest D in the 1/03 Grand Jury report. He admitted to at least 12 victims, according to the report. Vollmer would supply wine, marijuana and porn videos. Laicized 6/16/04. Died in 2016. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 8/19 of abusing a 16-year-old parishioner of St. Joseph's in Ronkonkoma in 1975. Included on the diocese's list of accused in 3/21.

Fr. Rudolph T. Vorisek

Named publicly as accused on the Los Angeles archdiocese's updated list 12/6/18. Report in 2013 of incidents 1966-70. Per his obituary, Vorisek was a campus minister at U.C. Santa Barbara (Isla Vista) 1968-76. He died 5/18/11. On Baltimore archdiocese's list 4/24/19, where he was assigned to St. Peter's Minor Seminary 1957-68. On the Paulists' list 3/8/19. It notes the report in Los Angeles in 2013 of abuse in 1970.

Fr. Gerald P. Vosen

Accused 9/18/03 by a woman at a state SOL hearing of sexually abusing her brother at age 14 in the early 1970s. The brother denied the allegation. Vosen was removed. The Diocesan Review Board assessed at least three allegations and unanimously recommended leave 2/15/04. In 5/04 Vosen sued a man who alleged fondling and anal rape at age 11-12 by Vosen in 1989-91. A jury rejected the defamation claim 8/4/05; found abuse claim substantiated. Church tribunal of three judges ruled against Vosen in 8/07. Vosen appealed to Vatican's Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith. The CDF upheld the diocese's decision, as announced 7/16/15.
