Accused in 1998 of abuse 1985-1987 of three boys, between ages 6-14, when a seminarian. Rabideau was studying in Boston and Rome; the abuse occurred during visits home to the Saginaw area. A warrant for his arrest was  issued in 1998. He fled the country. Per his order, it suspended him in 1992 and dismissed him in 1997. Rabideau was an active priest in the Philippines in 2004. He was arrested in Colombia in 2006 and extradited to  Michigan. He pleaded no contest to three charges; other charges were dropped. Sentenced to 5-10 years in prison on child sex abuse charges in 10/2006. Included on the Saginaw diocese's list 8/9/2019; Rabideau was prosecuted in the diocese, although he had not served there. He died 5/30/2014 at age 52 in a bicycling accident.

Laicized. Name included on the Archdiocese's list 1/15/2016 of clergy and religious with established, admitted or credible allegations against them of sexual abuse of a minor.

Removed and placed on administrative leave in 10/10 after a "credible" allegation that he abused a minor "many years ago" in an unspecified part of the diocese. Radetski denied the allegation. He was working at St. John's, St. Mary's and St. Patrick's parishes in Menasha when removed. Had previously worked in Green Bay, Peshtigo, Little Chute and Phlox. Determined in 9/17 by a Vatican tribunal to be "not guilty." Granted senior priest status by the diocese, restrictions were lifted, and was to "serve the diocese in a limited capacity."

Joined the Holy Cross Brothers in WI in 1960. Named among seven clerics by the Juneau diocese in 8/2019 as having allegations of sexual misconduct against them involving minors or vulnerable adults. Allegedly involved in sexual misconduct with a minor 1988-1993. Worked in AK as a Physician Assistant and was involved with a Skagway parish. Returned to his order in 1993. Worked as a Physician's Assistant and/or nurse also in Blanchard MI, South Bend IN, and Wilkes Barre PA.

Named publicly as accused by the Archdiocese on its list 1/22/2019. Removed from ministry 5/23/2002. Died 5/26/2010.

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 2020 of sexually abusing a minor 1980-1985 at St. Francis de Sales in New York NY. Raich was assigned to the parish as assistant pastor in 1969 and became pastor in 1981. He remained pastor until his death in 5/1987.

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese of Buffalo on its list updated 11/5/2018. From Italy. Worked in Italy after his 1903 ordination until 11/1904, when he arrived in New York to do missionary work with the Salesians of Don Bosco. In 1905 Raimondo was transferred to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Per a 1907 biographical sketch, Raimondo was chosen as pastor of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Los Angeles "because of his ability to to interest the younger people in the church work as his past years since graduating and after being ordained have been with children and younger people." Reportedly in 4/1908, Raimondo returned to Italy, citing poor health. He is shown in news reports in 1909 as curate of St. Anthony's in Elizabeth, NJ, in 1910 as pastor of St. Anthony's in Farnham NY,  and in 1914 of Francis of Assisi in Buffalo NY. He died in 1921 in Salt Lake City, UT, where he had been assigned to the Cathedral of the Madeleine for two years.

Parish priest, Boy Scouts chaplain. Accused in 7/2002 by of sexually abusing a boy in 1975. Placed on leave. The abuse allegedly involved fondling and occurred one time at Rainforth's lake house. The accuser was among a number of other boys invited to sleep over at the lake house by Rainforth, who provided them with alcohol. Rainforth was returned to ministry in 8/2002 after the Diocese said that he was drunk and that his behavior was inappropriate but did not meet the definition of abuse. Accused in a 2004 lawsuit by another man of sexually abusing him as a boy. His claim was included in a 2/2005 $5M settlement with 27 plaintiffs, most of whom were abused by Rev. James Hanley. Rainforth's accuser later died of a drug overdose. In a 12/2019 lawsuit Rainforth was accused of sexually abusing another boy in the 1970s, who also alleged abuse by Hanley. Rainforth died 7/31/2019 in the U.S. Virgin Islands. 

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese when added to its list in 2/2019. Two known victims. Died in 1990.

May be the same individual as "Friar" Raleigh or "Edmund Raleigh" accused in 2002, based on assignments and date of death. Four men accused Rev. Michael Raleigh of forcing them to engage in various sexual acts when they were children or young teens in the 1950s. Michael Raleigh had numerous parish assignments, was a Dean and Tribunal judge. Absent on Leave 1951-56. Died in 4/12/79. There were 5 claims against Michael Raleigh by 4/07. No evidence found in the Official Catholic Directory of Edmund Raleigh. There was a Rev. Edmond Bliven at the parish in question in 1956, per the Directory. "Edmund" Raleigh was accused in a lawsuit filed in 5/02 of abusing a boy, beginning in 1956 when the boy was age 12 or 13, at St. John the Apostle in Oregon City. Per the plaintiff, Raleigh and Rev. Martin Doherty abused him and also forced him to watch as they engaged in group sex with other minors.

The Diocese notified parishioners in 10/2010 that a man had recently alleged that he was sexually abused as a minor by Ramaekers in 1986, when Ramaekers was assigned to St. Justin Martyr in Anaheim. At the time of the notification, Ramaekers was pastor of St. Joseph's in Placentia, a position he had held since 1997. The Diocesan Review Board found no credible evidence to support the allegation, and Ramaekers was kept in ministry. The same accuser filed suit in 2009 alleging abuse by three former priests and a lay employee. Ramaekers denied the allegation. Ramaekers retired on 12/1/2024 as pastor of Corpus Christi in Aliso Viejo and was to live in a private residence, per the Diocese's website.

Arrested in 1/2008 after taking a 17-year-old boy to a motel room to "counsel" him. His Order bailed him out. In 6/2008 he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery and burglary; other misdemeanor charges were dismissed. Admitted to inappropriately touching the youth. His lawyer said it was "bad judgment." Sentenced to six months in jail in 8/2008 and three years probation. Released from jail in 3/2009. All privileges removed.

Ordained for the permanent diaconate 2008. Deacon and teacher at Holy Family Parish in North Miami in 6/2023 when arrested on charges of molesting two students, both girls, ages 11 and 12. The incidents allegedly occurred at the school in 3/2023.

Accused of sexual misconduct with a minor female in 1991. Parish personnel were notified immediately; the diocese investigated and determined there was no evidence. Per the girl's family's request, the diocese provided counseling. The family's contact with the counselor ceased within few months and the family threatened litigation in 2/92. Civil litigation filed 7/93. Ramon was removed from ministry and resigned from the priesthood in 2002. He died 8/13/14. On the archdiocese's list 1/31/19.

Full name Eleuterio Victor Al Ramos, Jr. Priest of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles CA, then the Diocese of Orange when in was created in 1976. In and out of treatment, kept in ministry. Placed on leave in 1985 after admitting to having "slipped"; sent to a Tijuana Mexico parish and put in charge of a children's ministry. Removed in 1991. Died in 2004. Personnel file released in 1/2013. Wrongful death suit filed in 3/2017 vs the Orange and L.A. dioceses by the widow of an alleged victim who died by suicide in 2015. The abuse was said to have been at St. Joseph's in Placentia, 1975-1978. The victim was altar boy who met Ramos at age 10. Ramos reportedly told detectives he had abused at least 25 boys. Five lawsuits settled during the 1990s. Five settled in 2004. Settlement in 12/2024 for $10M for a plaintiff claiming abuse as a boy in the 1970s and 1980s by Ramos and Fr. Siegfried Widera. The abuse by Ramos allegedly began when the boy was age five in 1979 or 1980.

From the Philippines. Pleaded guilty in 1993 to three misdemeanors for strip-searching young boys in Indianapolis after they set off stink bombs in the parish school. Sentenced to an 18-month suspended sentence and 15 months' probation. Was moved to Chicago and then to the Diocese of San Bernardino, CA. Placed on leave in 4/2002. Allowed to return to restricted duty with the Order in 2003. Included on the San Bernardino diocese's list in 10/2018; noted to be permanently banned from ministry in the diocese. Died in 2021. Included on the Society of the Divine Word's Chicago and Western Provinces lists. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report.

Priest of the Diocese of Norwich. Named publicly as accused by the Hartford archdiocese on its list 1/22/2019. Retired in 1977. Volunteered and taught religious ed at St. Adalbert's in Enfield 1978-1979. Worked at a parish and school in St. Petersburg FL in 1983; dismissed in 12/1983 for "unprofessional behavior related to boundary violations." Allegation received after his death. On the Norwich diocese's list 2/22/2019. It notes that allegations were received sometime after his 1977 retirement. Died 7/26/1994.

Accused anonymously in 1992 of "kissing and molesting Haitian boys" in his Boston parish school in 1992. On 6/27/2009 the archdiocesan website showed him to have active status with an assignment at Marist House in Framingtham. In 4/2012, attorney Garabedian announced a recent settlement of at least one claim involving Rancourt. Also worked in MI, NY and OH. Included in 1/2021 on the Fall River diocese's list of accused. Noted to have been assigned at some point to parishes in North Easton, New Bedford and Vineyard Haven.

Ordained in 1940 for the Diocese of Covington, KY. Transferred to Tucson in 1953 because of health problems, including severe asthma. A woman filed suit in 6/2004, alleging abuse by Ranft and six other priests while she was a student at Immaculate Heart Academy 1962-1965. Ranft is the main abuser listed in the petition; the other priests are mostly identified only by last names. He died in 2001 at age 86.

Named publicly as accused by the Brownsville diocese on its list 1/31/2019. Removed from ministry in 1977 and was returned to his order. Died 5/18/2002.

Named publicly as accused on the diocese's list 1/17/19. Multiple substantiated allegations of abuse against him occurring in about 1950. Sick leave 1932-33, hospital chaplain 1933-35. Several parish assignments, including St. Matthew's in Green Bay 1948-72. The diocese's 4/19 list notes allegations also of abuse 1960-68. Died in 1983.

Worked in PA, UT, NY, IL, MI and OK. Teacher, wrestling coach. Accused of abuse of at least two MI boys in 1987. Removed, sent to treatment. Accepted in 1987 into the Joliet diocese by Bishop Imesch, who knew of Rapp's sexual abuse of boys. Also worked in OK; abused boys there. Convicted in 1999 in OK; received a 40-year sentence.  Settlement of $5M in an OK civil suit. Accused in a 2003 Utah lawsuit by two brothers; dismissed due to the statute of limitations. Laicized 9/21/2009. Charged in 5/2015 with abuse in the 1980s of boys at Lumen Christi High in Jackson MI. Six more counts added 6/26/2015. Pleaded no contest in 2/2016. Sentenced to up to 40 years 4/29/2016. Included on the Salt Lake City diocese's list 12/4/2018, where he was accused in 11/2000-2002 of abusing four minors 1969-1975. On the Lansing list 9/27/2019. On the OK City diocese's list 10/3/2019, and on the Joliet diocese's list (ordination date wrong). New lawsuit in 10/2020 in UT. A new suit in 11/2020 v the Salt Lake City diocese alleges a nun walked in on Rapp abusing a boy, did nothing, and threatened the boy. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report. Died 9/6/2024 in prison.

In 4/2018 a 48-year-old man stated publicly he was sexually abused at age 11 in 1981 by Rappl. He said it happened once, after confession at St. Peter's in Lewiston. After Lewiston, Rappl was assigned to parishes in West Seneca and Holley, before working into the late 1990s as a military chaplain in CA, NY, Washington DC and NC. He left the priesthood 1999 and stayed in NC. In 4/2018 he was noted to be working as a "married Roman Catholic Priest," although he was no longer in "the clerical state." He was also a volunteer counselor at an overnight camp for children run by the Buffalo diocese. Rappl's accuser filed a complaint with the Diocese 3/19/2018. In 8/2019 Rappl was accused in a lawsuit of the sexual abuse of another child, age 12-14, in 1978-1980 at St. Peter's in Lewiston. Included on the Diocese's list of credibly accused.

"Fr. Bill." Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 3/22/2019. Retired in 1987. Died in 2005. Multiple allegations. Per a report 2019 report commissioned by the diocese there were three victims, all boys ages 11-14, abused in 1959.

Monsignor. Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception rector for 20 years. Co-founded the Samaritan House. Named as accused in the CO Attorney General's Report released 10/23/2019. In 1975 a 13-year-old boy told another priest at the Cathedral that Rasby fondled his genitals. Rasby wrote a note to the boy saying "You have every right to be mad at me." Kept in ministry. In 1990 a 16-year-old boy told his parents - who informed the Archdiocese - that Rasby had been hugging him and kissing him on the cheeks, then later kissed him on the lips, despite the boy's protest. As pastor, Rasby had hired the boy as a Saturday receptionist at St. Vincent de Paul parish. Rasby denied kissing the boy on the lips. Sent to outpatient treatment, access to boys restricted. Kept as pastor, retired in 1995. Died 7/23/2014.

Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 1/18/20. Noted to have multiple substantiated allegations against him. Ordained at age 35. Appears to have left active ministry in 1983. Settled in NM. Died 9/18/11.

Named publicly as accused in the MI Attorney General's 6/25/2026 Diocese of Saginaw Report. In
5/2024 the Diocese received an allegation that Ratajczak sexually abused an altar boy multiple times 1985-1986, at St. Hedwig's in Bay City. Ratajczak allegedly made the boy drink wine with him before mass, then would fondle the boy and make the boy fondle him while they were changing into their robes for mass. The Diocesan Review Board determined that there was insufficient information to determine the credibility of the allegations.

The Diocese knew of Ratermann's sexual abuse of boys in 1968 while he was principal of Mater Dei High School in Breese. Placed on leave and, per the IL Attorney General's Report in 5/2023, "the case was resolved by the bishop, parents and the State's Attorney." Assigned to parish ministry. Per the A.G., the Diocese claimed it first received a report of abuse by Ratermann in 1986. Ratermann admitted that the abuse "could have happened." Kept in ministry, moved to another parish. Suspended in 3/1993 after another allegation. Permanently barred from ministry. Denied all allegations. Appealed his case to Rome in 2002 when the bishop refused to reinstate him. On 1/24/2009 the diocesan website gave his status as "Administrative Leave/ Retired." Suit filed in 4/2009, settled in 3/2012. Name included on the Diocese's list of credibly accused 12/19/2018. One man told the A.G. he was abused as a Ss. Peter and Paul altar boy, at the parish and on house boat trips. Ratermann was assigned to the parish 1971-1985. There are at least seven accusers. 

In 5/2010 a school principal complained of Ratigan's behavior. He was not removed from St. Patrick until 12/2010, after child pornography was found on his laptop computer. He attempted suicide. Assigned to say mass for nuns. A police report was filed in 5/2011. Ratigan was arrested 5/19/2011. Multiple lawsuits. Some civil suits settled, including one for $1.3M. Two more settled in 2/2014 for $1.8M. In 2013 Ratigan pleaded guilty to federal pornography charges. On 9/11/2013 he was sentenced to 50 years in prison; in 10/2013 he was sentenced on state charges to three 7-year sentences. He was laicized in 1/2014. A Federal Appeals Court upheld the 50-year sentence 07/24/2014. Included on the Diocese's list 9/5/2019.

Parish priest, assigned in Walpole, Boston, and Dorchester MA. Died in 1969. Accused in a lawsuit settled in 2023 of sexually abusing a girl, age 6, in 1962, in the rectory of St. Paul's in Dorchester.

Accused of child sexual abuse in a 2019 lawsuit under the NY Child Victims Act. Pastor of St. Leo's in Hilton, NY 1954-1968. Retired in 1968. Died 6/26/78.

Named publicly as accused by the Archdiocese on its list in 6/2022. The list notes that Raum was accused in 2004 of abusing of a minor in the 1960s, and was the subject of two more allegations in 2022. Per the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General's Report, a woman reported in 2004 that in the early 1970s, when she was age 16 or 17, Raum put his hands down her shirt and pants, and years later, on the day before her wedding, tried to grope her. In 2022 a man said Raum fondled him as a boy in 1971 on multiple occasions. Raum is also said to have groomed teenage girls with whom he began sexual relationships when they reached adulthood. He died in 2003.

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Franciscans' Our Lady of Guadalupe Province on its list as of 1/2024. Member of the Sacred Heart Province. Reportedly in 8/2024, Rausch was accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing a teenage boy in the late 1970s while assigned to St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Oakville. He died in 2019.

Rausch was a Christian Brother (FSC) prior to being ordained for the permanent diaconate in 1993. He was a high school teacher and principal beginning in 1966 in Westchester IL, Stevens Point WI, St. Paul MN, Minneapolis MN, Randolph MN, Winona MN, Fargo ND. In 1985 he was appointed executive assistant to Fargo's Bishop James Sullivan. Named publicly as accused by the Diocese of Fargo on its list 1/2/2020. Allegations substantiated. Removed from ministry.

Former Secretary General of the NCCB. Bishop of the Diocese of Phoenix from 1977 until his death in 1981. In 11/2001 a man gave a deposition in a case involving the Tucson diocese and Msgr. Robert Trupia, in which he stated that he was 17 when he began a sexual relationship with Rausch and over 18 when he was involved with Trupia and William T. Byrne. Trupia attempted to blackmail the diocese in 1992 by saying that he would release information on Bishop Rausch and the young man.

Accused in 1993 of molesting a boy in 1987. Allegations against Raux and Rev. James L. Wilson Jr. were settled in 1995 for $200K. Raux later denied the allegation. In a 1996 letter recommending Raux for a USAF chaplaincy in WY, Cardinal Law assured the military he knew of no reason why Raux would be unsuitable to work with children. Per the 8/2011 Boston archdiocese's list of accused, the Review Board either found the allegations unsubstantiated or he was acquitted by canonical process. No restrictions on privileges. Appointed Archdiocese of Military Services, USA Dean for European Vicariate, per 8/17/2012 announcement. 'Very Reverend.'

Multiple allegations. Accused in 1990 of abusing a boy while assigned to St. Peter Damian parish 1984-1989. Removed from parish work in 1991. Allowed to live 2000-2002 at an Augustinian Friary in Hyde Park, near a day care center and a Catholic grade school. Removed from his job in Office of Health and Hospital Affairs in 6/2002. Permanently removed from active ministry in 9/2005. Included on the Chicago Archdiocese's list in 2006. Resigned in 3/2009. Laicized in 1/2012. Claim in 1/2014 of abuse of a boy in Wauconda 1989-1991. Allegations of abuse of three others received in 2009 and 2013. Per documents released in 11/2014, Ray was accused of sexually attacking two boys, starting when they were ages 10 and 11, while assigned to St. Anastasia in Waukegan 1975-1982. In 2008 he was living with eight other accused priests at Stritch Retreat House in Mundelein. Laicized in 2012. A 2020 lawsuit alleged abuse and sexual torture 1983-1987 of a boy while assigned to St. Peter Damian. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report, which notes at least 13 "reported survivors."

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Jesuits' Central and Southern Province on its list 12/17/2021. Noted to have more than one allegation against him. Abuse estimated to have occurred in the 1940s and 1950s. Ray died in 1983. Included in 6/2022 on the New Orleans archdiocese's list, where he was assigned at some point; no known abuse there.

Ordained for the Diocese of Saginaw. Became a priest of the Diocese of Gaylord when it was created in 1971. Left the priesthood in 1985. Died in 1986. First named publicly as credibly accused by the Gaylord diocese on its list 11/10/2018. On the Saginaw diocese's list by 8/9/2019. Included in the MI Attorney General's 1/8/2024 Gaylord report, which shows multiple allegations of the sexual abuse of girls, as young as age 6, and sexual 'relationships' with adult women, two of which produced children. Included in the MI Attorney General's 6/25/2026 Diocese of Saginaw Report, which reveals that a woman reported in 5/2019 that Raymond sexually abused her when she was age 16, 1969-1970.

Named publicly as accused by the Richmond and Arlington dioceses on their lists in 2/19. Died in 2002. Allegation reported after Rea's death.

From Ireland. Was an actor in Ireland and briefly in Hollywood prior to entering seminary. Named as accused in the CO Attorney General's Report released 10/23/2019. In 1986 a psychiatrist informed the Diocese of a recent allegation that Reade kissed and fondled an 11-year-old boy at a social gathering. Reade was suspended, then reinstated after the allegation was deemed unsubstantiated. Reade denied the allegation. A report was received by the Diocese  in 1994 that Reade sexually abused a boy, ages 10-12, 1969-1971, while assigned as chaplain to two Grand Junction hospitals. The Diocese settled with the alleged victim, who told investigators there may have been other victims. In 2016 the Diocese reported to Pueblo police an allegation of abuse by Reade in the mid-1950s. Reade died in 1990.

Accused in a 2003 civil suit against the Los Angeles archdiocese of abuse of a minor. The abuse allegedly occurred in 1965 when Reagan was working at Rancho San Antonio in Chatsworth, CA. He died in about 1989. He joined the order at age 18 and left in 1966 at age 22 to pursue a career in baseball. Included on the archdiocese's Addendum to the Report to the People of God in 2005. (Reagan's name is spelled "Regan" in the report, but is "Reagan" in his personnel file.)

Per the PA Attorney General's 3/1/16 Grand Jury Report, in 1966 Ream "took special interest" in a female student at Bishop Carroll High School, where he taught religion. He counseled her and helped her get into college, including providing money. He visited her there and insisted she see him on visits home, during which time he engaged in sex with her. When she fell in love with a boy at school, he harassed her and she grew frightened. She reported Ream to the diocese in 2008. He died 4/18/08.

Given name Joseph Ambrose Reams. Full religious name Ultanian Benedict Reams. Made final vows as a De Las Salle Christian Brother in 1939. Taught at Mont La Salle 1936-1946, then at St. Mary's College in Moraga 1946 until retirement in 1969. Continued at St. Mary's assisting in physics classes. Also operated a weather station throughout his time there. Played organ at St. Mary's college chapel and at St. Monica's Parish in Moraga. Died in 1994 in Napa. Accused in a lawsuit [s] filed sometime between 2020-2022 of the sexual abuse of minor[s].

Accused, along with two other priests, in lawsuits filed in 2004 by six people of sexual abuse at a lake home or at church. The priests allegedly would give the kids drugs and alcohol. Reardon left active ministry in 1989 and resigned from the priesthood. He went on to work as a substance abuse counselor. A suit against Reardon and one other priest settled in 4/2007. Other claims settled in 8/2008 as part of a $10M settlement involving twelve priests. Named in 2/2011, 4/2011 and 11/2011 suits claiming the sexual abuse of boys. There are at least 24 accusers. Another lawsuit was filed in 7/2018. Included on the Diocese's list 9/5/2019, which notes multiple substantiated allegations. Laicized. A credible allegation was announced in 10/2020 of the abuse of a child in 1972 at Camp Little Flower; Reardon was camp director. Settlement in 2021. Reardon died 1/16/2022 at a senior living facility in south Kansas City.

Parish priest, pastor; teacher; chaplain at the ND Industrial School in Mandan. Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list 1/2/2020. Allegations substantiated. Faculties permanently removed 4/16/2002. Died 3/11/2007.

One of 21 priests placed on administrative leave by the Philadelphia Archdiocese on 3/7/11, pending investigation for allegations involving minors. Reardon's last assignment was as pastor at St. John of the Cross Parish in Roslyn. His name is included on a secret 1994 memo from Fr. Wm. Lynn to Msgr. James Molloy (released 2/27/12) regarding priests in secret archives who were accused of sexual misconduct with a minor. On 5/4/12 the Archdiocese found the allegations against Reardon substantiated and that he was unsuitable for ministry. Canonical process pending. The Archdiocese did not provide details of the allegations. In 2011 a news outlet reported that in the early 1990s a woman alleged that Reardon sexually abused her when she was 9 years old.

Monsignor. Died in 1991. Accused in a civil suit filed in 3/2004 of abuse of a 15- to 16-year-old boy 1971-1972. Claims against Reardon were included in the 10/2005 $22M settlement between the Archdiocese and 43 plaintiffs alleging abuse by 14 priests. Included on the Archdiocese's list 1/22/2019. On the Norwich diocese's list 2/22/2019.

In 8/2002 the Diocese announced that "several individuals" had come forward with credible accusations that they had been abused by Reason as minors. Per a 12/2002 news article, two brothers had come forward to allege abuse by Reason and Fr. Gerry Appleby, and by an Episcopal priest and an Episcopal seminarian. The men said that, in effect, the four traded them around. They said that Reason would also give them and other altar boys money and alcohol and take them to Tampa for professional wrestling. Reason left the diocese in 1978 and died in 1984, at age 60. Accused in 2005 of child sexual abuse at an Altamonte Spring parish in the early-to-mid-1960s. Three claims settled for $1.5M in 7/2005. Included on the St. Petersburg diocese's list of credibly accused. Included in 10/2021 on the Orlando diocese's list. 

From (off the coast of India). Ordained at the Vatican for the Diocese of Nagpur, India. Worked in Italy and Paris before arriving in the U.S. in 1965. Incardinated into the Boston archdiocese in 1977. Removed in 8/2002 from Quigley Memorial Hospital after the Archdiocese received an allegation of an incident involving a 12- or 13-year-old girl in the early 1970s. Accused of molesting at least half a dozen teenage girls, as well as boys and adult women. Included on the Boston archdiocese's list of accused in 8/2011 which notes "Administrative leave, case in progress." Died 2/15/2017. Accused in a 3/2022 lawsuit of the sexual abuse, including rape, of a boy at the rectory and school of St. Joseph's in Holbrook. Per the suit, the abuse caused injury to the boy, and Rebeiro told the boy's mother that he caused his own injuries. 

First named publicly as accused in the 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury Report. Included on the diocese's list of accused. Leave of Absence 5/1973-8/1974. In 2009 the diocese received a report from the parents of an alleged victim that Rebel molested their 10- to 12-year-old son in the 1970s. They said their son told them years later about the abuse; by 2009 he was deceased. The abuse allegedly happened in their son's bedroom after a mass in their home. Further, they said that Rebel would drive their son home after CCD, and that he would sob and beg them not to make him go to CCD. Rebel denied the accusations. He died 3/17/2013.

In 2003 a man alleged that he was molested in the mid-1970s by Rebokus while a student at Holy Name High School, where Rebokus was headmaster. The abuse allegedly would involve wrestling, showers and massages, and continued at a parish after Rebokus left the school. Rebokus' accuser said the abuse stopped when the he bested Rebokus in wrestling. Rebokus died in 1983. He had also been a state police chaplain.

Retired in 1998. Evaluated and treated after an allegation in 1992 of abuse in 1963. Returned to ministry. Placed on leave along with nine other priests in 4/2002 due to allegations, pending further review of their cases. Died in 2017. Included on the diocese's list of credibly accused.

Assigned in the Dioceses of Scranton and Harrisburg PA. First allegation in 1975 involved soliciting an altar boy for oral sex. The boy told officials of the Byzantine Catholic Diocese of Passaic in 1978 but nothing was done. A few months later Rebovich transferred to the Byzantine Catholic diocese of Parma. A 1990 civil suit (settled in 1991) alleges Rebovich raped an altar boy in 1980 in the Parma diocese. The suit also alleges church officials covered up the incident when notified in 1984. In 1992 three more plaintiffs filed suit. On leave beginning in 1990. On the Harrisburg diocese's list released 8/1/2018, accused of sexually abusing a child. Worked in the diocese in the early 1970s. Deceased. Added to the Scranton diocese's list 12/2018.

Placed on administrative leave by his superior at St. Martin's Abbey in 3/2011 after a recent allegation that he had abused a minor while assigned 1984-1986 to Sacred Heart Parish in Lacey. Most recently, he had been serving as a supply priest for the archdiocese. Spokesman for the archdiocese said this was first and only accusation against Receconi.

Parish priest and pastor, teacher at the Diocesan Preparatory Seminary. Retired to St. Petersburg FL, where he died 1/4/1976. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 8/2019 under NY's Child Victims Act of abusing a child, age 12-13. In 8/2021 the Diocese announced that its Review Board had deemed the allegations substantiated.

Given name Paul Francis Reding. Accused in a lawsuit(s) in 2020 under the NY Child Victims Act of the sexual abuse of a minor(s). Per his obituary, Reding had assignments in NY City, Asheville NC, St. Petersburg FL, Brazil, Denver CO, Croghan NY, East Rutherford NJ, Allegany NY and Obernburg NY. He died 1/4/2000.

Placed on leave in 2/2002 after allegations that he sexually abused at least one child in IA in the 1960s. At least three more victims from a parish in the Kansas City KS archdiocese came forward after his suspension. Complaints involved inappropriate touching of elementary school children 1961-1964. Sent to live at St. Benedict's Abbey in Atchison. Included on the Davenport diocese's list in 7/2008, which notes allegations of the sexual abuse of five male minors. On the Kansas City KS archdiocese's list 1/25/2019, which notes multiple allegations of abuse, occurring 1960-1968. Allegations were deemed substantiated by the Archdiocese in 5/2025. Redmond died 5/31/2019.

Parish pastor, vicar general. In 8/1995 the diocese settled with at least six men who claimed abuse by Redmond when they were boys. After allegations became public in 12/1994, Redmond was placed on leave and later retired. In 8/1995, another man's suit was dismissed due to the statute of limitations. Other victims were expected to file. Died in 2/2006. New suit filed in 10/2011. Included on the Orlando diocese's 10/6/2021 list of credibly accused.

Multiple allegations of abuse of boys. At least one claim against Reed was included in a 3/2008 $4.7M settlement with the archdiocese involving claims against 9 priests. The abuse allegedly occurred at St. Mary's in Dubuque in 1963-1964. Reed died 4/16/1976. At least one more claim was included in an 8/2013 $5.2M out-of-court settlement involving 10 priests and 26 victims.

Monsignor. Pastor of St. Aloysius in Great Neck 1961-84, then Pastor Emeritus until his death in 2/90. Included in 3/21 on the diocese's list of accused. Abuse allegedly occurred at St. Aloysius, Jones Beach, a boys' camp, Reel's car and at Immaculate Conception Seminary, where he was assigned 1939-57.

Accused in a lawsuit that settled in late 2021 in the high five figures of sexually abusing a girl, ages 14-17, multiple times during 1977-1980. The girl was a student at Pope John XXIII high school in Everett, where Regan was an economics teacher. His accuser said Regan told her that if she didn't comply with his sexual demands he wouldn't allow her to graduate. Regan died 5/4/2020.

From Pakistan. Assigned in the Madison diocese in 6/2022. Criminally charged in 12/2022 for the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl, occurring between 9/5/2022 and 10/1/2022. The girl was a participant in a Bible study Rehmat led at a DeForest parish. The incidents involved kissing and touching, in a vehicle. There were also incidents via video contact in which the girl would disrobe and Rehmat would masturbate. Convicted. Sentenced in 4/2023 to two years in prison and three years of extended supervision. Required to register as a sex offender.

Parish priest, High School teacher and administrator, mental health center chaplain. Died in 2012. Per his obituary, Rehme retired due to "ill health" in 1992. Named publicly as accused by the Archdiocese on its list 7/26/2019. Allegations substantiated. Removed from ministry.

Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its 2/22/2019 list. It notes two allegations of abuse of girls, occurring 1973-1984. Left the priesthood in 1996 and married. Died 6/3/2024.

Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list 3/19/2019. Left ministry in 1976. Deceased. Report to the Diocese in 2002 of abuse 1961-1966 in Bay St. Louis.

On 1/24/2014, the Crookston diocese released a list of accused persons, including Reid, who previously was not publicly known to be accused. The diocese provided no information about the allegations against him. He was trained at Mount St. Bernard Seminary in Dubuque IA and St Procopius Seminary in Lisle IL. Reid was ordained in Omaha but worked in the Crookston diocese his entire career as a parish priest. He was reportedly removed from ministry on 7/1/1992 but is subsequently listed in the Official Catholic Directory as in residence at St. Michael's in Mahnomen 1992-1997, after which he is listed as living in Park Rapids. After the USCCB's Dallas meeting, he was dropped from the Directory in 2003, only to reappear with his death on 4/15/2007.

From Ireland where he attended seminary. Ordained in 1948 for the Diocese of Natchez-Jackson. Named publicly as accused by the Diocese of Jackson on its list 3/19/2019, which notes that Reid left ministry in the 1970s and died in 1993. Appears to have returned to Ireland, where he was buried. In 2014 the Diocese received a report of abuse by Reid occurring in 1963-1965 in Leland.

Monsignor. Pastor of Immaculate Conception in Springfield when accused in a federal lawsuit in 9/2024 of sexually abusing a boy, along with another priest, while assigned to St. Canera in Neosho. The abuse allegedly went on for two years, when the boy was ages 9-12. Placed on leave.

In 1986, 2002 and 2005 the Diocese received reports of abuse by Reif. Accused of sexually abusing two boys, who were brothers, 1975-1986. Sent to treatment 1986-1987. He denied the allegations but wrote an apologetic letter to the boys' parents in 1988. Left the priesthood in 1989. Suit filed in 1995; dismissed due to the statute of limitations. Appealed to KS Supreme Court which reversed the decision in 7/1996 and sent the case back down for trial. Settled in the mid-1990s. Reif was laicized in 2006. Included on the Diocese's list 3/29/19 of those with substantiated allegations against them.

Retired and in active ministry St. Justin Martyr in Sunset Hills when accused in an 8/2024 lawsuit of sexually abusing an altar boy in 1997 at Immaculate Conception in Dardenne Prairie. Reiker denied the allegation. Suspended from ministry pending "more clarity."

A woman filed suit in 12/2004 alleging that Reilley sexually assaulted her for several years in the 1950s when she was ages 2-8. He died in 1990. Case was still pending 2/15/2006.

Parish priest; Navy chaplain 1942-1962. Died 6/10/1965. Named publicly as credibly accused by the  Archdiocese on its list 2/13/2019. One alleged victim noted.

First named publicly as accused on the Nashville diocese's list 11/2/2018. Dismissed from the diocese in 1965. The list mistakenly stated that Reilly had died. It list was corrected and re-released 11/8/2018. Name included on the Savannah diocese's list 11/8/2018. Noted to have worked there 1964-1965 and to have been laicized in 1965. On the Diocese of Knoxville's list as of 3/6/2020. Included in the 3/24/2023 GA PAC Report (with a wrong ordination year). Allegation from a man in 2002 to the Savannah diocese that Reilly sexually abused him and two other altar boys while assigned to Sacred Heart in Warner Robins, GA in the early 1960s. Reilly allegedly would take the boys out on a lake in a boat, and would give them wine at the church and molest them.

Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list in 2/2019. Died 1/5/1991.

From Ireland. Ordained for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Monsignor. Accused in a 2003 lawsuit of abuse of a minor 1980-1984. In late 2004 the Archdiocese deemed the allegations unfounded; Reilly was allowed to continue in active ministry as a retired priest. Died 4/4/2018.

Accused in 2002 of abuse in 1976. Civil suit filed 12/2003. Per the 2004 L.A. Archdiocesan Report, there were 4 accusers claiming abuse 1959-1976. Reilly was reportedly in residence for several years at St. Dominic's in San Francisco, which had a school. He also worked in the Oakland diocese. Included on the San Bernardino diocese's list 10/9/2018, where he was assigned to Notre Dame High School in Riverside 1988-1993. The Santa Barbara diocese list notes abuse took place in Eugene OR in 1983, that it was made aware in 5/1993 and that Reilly left the diocese in 5/1993. He died in 2016. Name included on the Dominicans St. Joseph Province list in late 2018. It notes a transfer in 1974 to the Province of the Holy Name. On the Holy Name Province list in 10/2021.

Parish priest. Faculty member and guidance director of Sacred Heart in Vineland. Taught at Gloucester Catholic High School at and Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill. Guidance director of St. James High School in Carney's Point.  CYO assistant director and director of Holy Child Day Camp in Grenloch. Died in 1977. Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 2/13/2019.

Ordained for the Dallas diocese, incardinated into Ft. Worth diocese when it was formed in 1969. Retired in 1987. Died in 1999 of Alzheimer's. Accused in the 2000s of abuse of four youths about 30 years prior. One accuser came forward in 2002; Diocese waited three years to tell him about other accusers. Suit filed by eleven men; settled in 11/06 for undisclosed amount. Building named after Reilly at former church was renamed as part of settlement. Seven more victims later came forward and settled without litigation in 2009 and 2010. More claims settled in 5/11, 6/11, 6/12, 4/13 and 3/14. About thirty known accusers as of 2014. On Dallas diocese's list 1/31/19.

Professed vows as a Marianist brother, Province of the Pacific, in 1958. Assigned to Chaminade College Prep in West Hills, CA. Left the Order in 1968. Included on the Marianists' list of accused 6/24/2020.

Died in 6/1992. According to documents released from his personnel file, Reilly was accused in 1999 of kissing and groping a 10- or 11-year-old altar boy and a 16-year-old altar boy one time each. Also accused of digitally raping a pre-pubescent girl once between 1961-1963. He was assigned to St. Agatha Parish in Milton during the relevant times. The Boston archdiocese's list in 8/2011 reported no formal determination of guilt either because Reilly died prior to a canonical or criminal investigation or it was not complete at his death.

Placed on administrative leave in 8/2006 after a man alleged that Reilly had improper contact with him in the 1970s when he was age 13 or 14. Reilly admitted contact but says it was not what it was alleged to be. On 02/21/2014 the archdiocese announced that a three-priest Tribunal had cleared Reilly of the charges (confirmed by the Vatican) and restored him to active ministry. Status changed to retired.

Named publicly as accused on the diocese's list 1/17/19. Noted to have a single substantiated allegation against him of abuse, occurring 1958-60, reported after his death. Reimer died in 2000.

Parish priest, pastor; leadership positions at Christ the King Seminary, including Vocations Director, Director of Priestly Formation, and Director of Spiritual Formation. Accused in a lawsuit in 1/2020 of sexually abusing a 15-year-old in about 1972 at Holy Cross Church. Reina denied the allegation.

Named publicly as accused on the Los Angeles Archdiocese's updated list 12/6/2018 which notes it received a report in 2018 of incident(s) in 2000. Removed from ministry in 2018. The Salesians reportedly had received an allegation in 2000 that Reina molested a child in 1975, prior to ordination. In 2012 an adult told the order Reina made an "improper advance" toward him in 2000. In 2013 Reina was awarded Salesian High School in Richmond's Educator of the Year.

Monsignor. Chancellor from 1980; vicar general from 1986. In 1992 a man accused Reinecke of sexually abusing him when he was a 13-year-old altar boy in 1967-1968, on an overnight trip to Williamsburg. Reinecke performed oral sex on the boy. Reinecke apologized and died by suicide in 1992. Another man then alleged fondling during an overnight trip to Williamsburg in 1969. In 2007, the Review Board deemed credible a woman's 2006 allegation of abuse in the late 1960s, when she was a child in the Richmond diocese. Included on the Richmond and Arlington diocese's lists in 2/2019.

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese of Scranton on its list in 10/2020. Died 9/26/1973.

Reinersman, the Vicar General and Chancellor of the Diocese and former Moderator of the Curia, was placed on leave in 5/2004 after a man alleged that Reinersman molested him repeatedly as a young boy in 1979, at Mary Queen of Holy Rosary in Lexington. Reinersman denied all allegations. A special civilian review board handled review of this case. Reinersman was cleared and reinstated as an active priest in 2/2005. The board said that "it couldn't rule out that his accuser simply accused the wrong priest."

Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its 2/22/2019 list. It notes six allegations received of the sexual abuse of boys in the 1950s. Retired in 1997. Died in 2001. The diocese's list updated 2/24/2019 shows just four allegations.

Named publicly as accused by the archdiocese on its list 4/26/19. Claims against Reinheimer eligible for the IRCP. Died in 2010.

Named publicly as accused on the diocese's list 1/17/19. Noted to have a single substantiated allegation against him of abuse 1962-63. Ordered by the Vatican in 2008 to a life of prayer and penance. Died 8/24/17.

Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list 2/23/2021. Noted to have been named in a lawsuit(s), with no determination as to credibility of the allegations. Reisinger died in 1994.

Accused of abuse of boys in the 1970s. Laicized in 9/1997. Murdered in Chilpancingo, Guerrero, Mexico 2/3/2005. Abuse became public after Reiss' death. Claims were including in the 2/2006 settlement by the diocese. At least one claim included in $4.7M 3/2008 settlement with the Archdiocese involving abuse by 9 priests. At least one more claim included in an 8/2013 $5.2M out-of-court settlement involving 10 priests and 26 victims.

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 7/2015. Included on the Duluth diocese's list in 12/2015. Assigned to Sts. Jean and Clement in Duluth 6/22/1971-9/1/1975. Also worked in Sisseton SD, St. Paul MN, St. Louis MO and Chicago IL. Left the Order in 1992. Laicized 9/8/2007. Added to the St. Paul and Minneapolis archdiocese's list 9/28/2018. Name included in 10/2022 on the Chicago archdiocese's list of credibly accused. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report. 

Accused in a federal lawsuit filed on 9/13/2024 of child sexual abuse (name sometimes misspelled "Reeker.")

Raised in Kansas City MO. Ordained for the Oblates in Belleville IL. Married in 2002. Named publicly as credibly accused of the sexual abuse of a minor(s) by the Crookston diocese on its list sometime after 9/21/2017. Worked in the diocese 1986-1992. In 6/2025 Rellihan's Linkedin page shows that he is Director in Kansas City MO of "Mother God Ministries, Inc.", since 2003 or 2008.

Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list in 3/21. Allegedly abused at St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary in Uniondale, where he was assigned beginning in 1960. Died 4/18/88. (Not to be confused with Msgr. William J. Remey of NY, who died in 1979.)

A woman sought counseling in 1988, alleging abuse by Renggli when she was in high school; she was referred by the Seattle archdiocese to a counseling agency. In 2005 she filed suit, alleging she did not understand the relationship between the counseling agency and the archdiocese. Renggli left the priesthood, married, and went to work with a group called Rent-a-Priest. Name included on the Seattle archdiocese's list 1/15/2016 of clergy and religious with admitted, established or credible allegations against them of sexual abuse of a minor. Worked at St. Martin's Abbey in Lacey 1971-1976.

Named publicly as accused of child sexual abuse by the Archdiocese on its list 1/22/2019. Died 8/17/2015. In 7/2025 a man received a settlement of $2.5M for abuse by Renkiewicz that he claimed occurred 1985-1990 when he was an altar boy at St. Adalbert's in Enfield.

Removed in 10/2002 on recommendation of Review Board after an allegation that he abused a minor three decades prior. Allegation received in 7/2002 but delayed because the man told the Diocese that he himself was under investigation for child abuse (he was later convicted). Matter referred to Rome and then returned to Diocese in 2003. On 1/24/2009 the diocesan website gave his status as "Administrative Leave/Retired." Died 3/13/2017. On diocese's list 12/19/2018. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report, which notes two "reported survivors."

"Rudy." Accused of the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old boy in 1981. The bishop confronted him; Renteria said could not admit or deny the abuse because of alcohol. He was reassigned several times. After a "series of incidents involving disruptive behavior and alcohol abuse" at one parish, he was sent for treatment to Southdown and then assigned as hospital chaplain, beginning in 1987. Barred from ministry in 2002. The bishop asked the Vatican to laicize him. A lawsuit filed in 3/2009 claimed abuse in 1981. It settled 6/30/2010. Renteria was laicized 12/10/2010. Added to in 12/2025 to the Gallup diocese's list of credibly accused, where he was assigned to parishes in 1977 and 1978.

Named publicly as credibly accused in the CO AG's supplemental report 12/1/2020.(Referred to as Duane Repola; the Directories show Gerald D. Repola. Also called "Jerry.") In 12/2019 a man reported to the IRRP that when he was ages 14-15 in 1967, Repola sexually abused him. Repola was assigned at the time of the abuse to Immaculate Heart of Mary. The report notes that Repola's assignment history indicates the diocese knew he was "engaged in such behavior." He was moved between parishes after short durations, then to a chaplaincy and, soon after, he was removed from ministry. He was placed on leave in 1971 and told to undergo counseling. Repola's personnel file did not explain reasons for the transfers, removal or counseling. He died 3/5/1971, age 33. As a seminarian in 1958, Repola worked at Camp St. Malo, where a deaf boy disappeared and was later found dead. Two other seminarians there at the time were later found to be serial child sex abusers.

Named publicly as credibly accused by St. Norbert Abbey in WI, on its list 7/19/19. One allegation noted. Reppen died 11/20/09.

Accused in a 7/21 lawsuit of sexually abusing a boy, age 10 or 11, in 1968 or 1969, at Holy Cross School summer camp in New Orleans. Repucci is deceased.

Suspended in 10/2018 after a report to police of sex abuse of a minor in the mid-1980s. Pastor for 28 years of St. Rosalia in Greenfield. Reschick denied the allegation. Allegations deemed credible by the diocesan review board in 11/2019. Case sent to the Vatican. Included on the diocese's list of accused.

From the Philippines. Ordained in 1955. First appears in the 1978 (U.S.) Official Catholic Directory. Pastor of Our Lady of Health in Las Cruces NM 1978-1983. (El Paso diocese until the Las Cruces NM diocese was formed in 1982.)  Member of the Society of St. John Vianney. Died 5/1/1983. Accused in a 6/2018 lawsuit of sexually abusing an altar boy in 1978 at Our Lady of Health. Four alleged victims joined the suit, which settled. Per the parish's website, Resma and his brother, also a priest, were magicians who "worked very well with young children and youth." A lawsuit filed in 12/2018 claimed Resma raped a 10-year-old girl on multiple occasions in the late 1970s. His accuser said that when she age was 8 or 9, Resma would kiss her "like I was an adult." She said he would have girls sleepover three or four at a time in the rectory living room, then take them one at a time to his bedroom. Another suit was filed in 2021 and was set to go to trial as of 8/2021. New lawsuit(s) filed in 7/2025. 

Monsignor. First named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese in 10/2018. Died 9/4/2003. Abuse reported after his death.

Named publicly as accused by the St. Vincent Abbey Benedictines in 8/2018. Multiple allegations of abuse dating to his time at St. Benedict's in Covington, KY 1965-1967. Per the Archabbey, the allegations were received in 1993, and Rettger was removed from active ministry. Included on the Diocese of Covington's list 7/31/2020 of those with substantiated allegation(s). Died 6/10/1999.

Br. Vincent De Paul. Joined the Xaverians in 1958. Named publicly as accused by the Order on its list 7/12/2019. Allegation noted to have been received in 1992, of abuse in Brooklyn in the late 1960s-early 1970s. Left the Xaverians in 2006. Deceased.

Taught public school before entering the Ursuline order in 1941. Professed vows in 1944. Had a long career at Ursuline Academy in Great Falls as teacher, principal, and superior. Taught at St. Malachy's in Los Angeles CA and St. Rose in Santa Rosa CA. Was superior in the late 1960s at St. Ignatius Mission in MT. One of several individuals with credible allegations of the sexual abuse of minors named in one of two lawsuits filed in 2011 against the two Montana dioceses. Reuter allegedly abused at St. Ignatius Mission. She died 5/11/1986.

President of Loyola Academy 1975-1990. Removed from active ministry in 2010 after admitting to an "inappropriate relationship" with a senior at the school after the boy turned 18. Settlement in the 1990s. A second man came forward in 2010, alleging abuse at Loyola Academy as a student in the late 1980s. On the Jesuits Midwest Province list 12/17/2018. It noted that he was living in a Jesuit Community 2010- to the present. Included in 10/2022 on the Chicago archdiocese's list of credibly accused. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report.

One of 10 religious brothers and two laymen accused by more than 30 men in a 5/2013 civil suit claiming abuse at three Chicago schools run by the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers' (Irish Christian Brothers) North American Province. Order agreed to a $16.5M settlement with 400 plaintiffs in 5/2013 with claims of abuse by multiple priests and brothers. Included on the Order's list of former and deceased brothers with at least two claims of sexual abuse against them, as required by its bankruptcy settlement in 2014. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report.

Assigned to the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe in Dallas when arrested 5/7/2024, on charges that he inappropriately touched two young girls at a home in Garland several days prior. The alleged abuse occurred the previous month.

Named publicly as accused in the 3/4/2026 RI Attorney General's Report. In 2020 two men filed lawsuits alleging sexual abuse by Reynolds as children in the 1970s, at St. Lawrence Parish. Both suits were dismissed due to the statute of limitations. One of the men said that when he was a 9-year-old altar boy in 1974, he had fallen asleep in a pew and awakened to find that Reynolds' penis was touching his lips. He said he yelled and ran into the woods, hiding until dark. When he went home he found that his mother was on the phone with Reynolds, who asked to talk with him, and that Reynolds told him not to tell. The man said he knew of three other boys he believed were also abused. The other man who sued said that when he was an 8- or 9-year-old altar boy in 1976 or 1977 Reynolds sexually abused him. Reynolds allegedly would constantly touch and grab him, and forced him into performing oral sex. A third man alleged that when he was a 10-year-old altar boy in 1975 Reynolds tried pulled down his pants and underwear, and that the priest was always "touchy feely." He said he told his parents that day and that his father went to the parish and told Fr. James Lamb what happened. Reynolds was kept in ministry. The man said that when he was in his thirties he told another priest about the incident. Reynolds retired in 2007 and died in 2017.

Reknowned photographer and writer. Frequently visited AK to visit and take photos, not formally assigned there. Often quoted as a spokesman for the Oregon Province. Worked at Seattle U. 1983-90. Suit filed 8/08 alleges Reynolds abused two boys, ages 9 and 11, at Toksook Bay at some point. Placed on leave in 8/08, investigated by the Order. Review Board deemed the allegations not credible. In 2004 another Jesuit, Rev. Dave Reynolds, SJ, had alerted leadership to sexual wrongdoing by Reynolds with young men and boys in the AK village. Sent for a psych eval. Two or more pending claims shown in bankruptcy reorganization documents for Fairbanks Diocese 1/25/10. Subsequently assigned to Gonzaga U. as Assistant Director of Campus Ministry. Requests made to Seattle Archbishop and Tacoma Bishop to remove his privileges. Quietly left Gonzaga at the end of the 2019 school year.

Parish priest and school teacher. Left the priesthood in 1989 and married in 1992. Worked as a counselor. One female plaintiff in a civil suit filed by 10 accusers in 2/2012 alleged sexual abuse by Robinson when she was a minor and he was assigned to Wolf Point, MT. His name is included on the Diocese's list 8/21/2018. He died 7/3/2019.

Permanently removed from ministry in 1987. Died in 1988. Named in a civil lawsuit filed 12/1993. Alleged to have sexually abused a teenage girl from about 1972 through 1984, when she was a parishioner and student at St. Francis Xavier parish and school in Buffalo, MN. Reynolds' name was included in 12/2013 on the archdiocese's list of credibly accused.

Entered the convent in 1957. "Sr. M. Frances Therese". Dismissed from her vows in 1974 for "familiarity," yet allowed to teach in Catholic schools for 21 years; continued to abuse boys and at least one girl. Abuse included intercourse with at least one boy, starting at age 12. Also gave children pornography and encouraged them to be sexual with each other. Convicted 7/13/04 of felony sexual abuse of a 10-year-old boy in 1969-70. Sentenced in 9/04 to 6 months in jail. Sued in 2004 in VA and PA. Living in Drexel Hill, PA as of 1/09.

First named publicly as accused on the Diocese of Gaylord's list 11/10/2018. Noted to have been removed from the diocese and returned to his Order in 1993. Died in 1995. Included in the MI Attorney General's 1/8/2024 Gaylord report, which shows that Laurus was accused of inappropriate hugging and of kissing and fondling girls, as young as age 6. Included on the Franciscans' Our Lady of Guadalupe list of credibly accused as of 1/2024. (Member of the Sacred Heart Province.) 

Monsignor. Placed on leave, then "retired" in 2002 after allegation that he had molested Michael Hands as a high school student. Hands went on to become a priest and in 2002 pled guilty to abusing a teenage boy. Hands claimed that a church official offered him cash if he promised to keep quiet about charges against Ribaudo, one of the diocese's best fund-raisers. Ribaudo, Priest O in the Suffolk County Grand Jury Report, admitted in therapy that he had abused "at least 12 boys." Died 8/13/16. Lawsuits filed in 8/19: claims of abuse of a 17-year-old, who was a student at Holy Trinity in Hicksville, 4/69-6/69; claims of abuse of a child, ages 15-16, at Holy Trinity High School in 1977. Included on the diocese's list of accused in 3/21.

On sick leave in 1982. Removed from ministry/retired 1/1/1992. Confronted in 1996 by two priests about his sexual misconduct. As of 1/2003, three men had filed suit alleging Ribeiro sexually abused them in 1960s at All Saints in Concord. Per a 7/2004 article, there were four plaintiffs in two lawsuits. One plaintiff said he told his pastor during confession within two weeks of his abuse and that Ribeiro was then transferred and promoted. Died 10/18/2000. Included on the Diocese's list of credibly accused 2/17/2019.

Removed in 2002. Accused, along with two other priests, of abuse of teenage girl. No criminal charges filed, due to statute of limitations. Church found allegations credible. Allegations against Rice included in 10/2004 settlement with Archdiocese. Living without restrictions at St. John Vianney Residence for Retired Priests in Rutherford, NJ for several years as of 11/2013. Included 2/13/2019 on the Archdiocese's list of credibly accused. Multiple alleged victims noted. Died in 2014. A new lawsuit in 7/2020 alleges abuse 1978-1981 at St. John the Apostle in Linden. Accused in a claim settled in 2020 in the low six figures of sexually abusing an altar boy, ages 12-18, during 1978-1985, while assigned to St. John the Apostle. The abuse included forced oral sex and forced sodomy.

Name added 7/18/2018 to the diocese's list as under investigation. Accused of sexual harassment of children and adults. Retired and living in Fryburg, PA. Placed on leave pending investigation; told to refrain from public ministry and to have no contact with children. Per the list updated 2/15/2023, the allegations were credible and Rice was forbidden to function as a priest. The Diocese's list in 2/2024 shows that Rice died in 8/2023.

Included on the Diocese's list 9/5/2019 under the category, "Clergy who have served in Diocese of KCSJ found by the Diocesan Bishop to be unsuitable for ministry out of concern for the safety of our youth." Retired in the early 2000s. Reportedly in 2002, Rice allowed accused priest Thomas Ward to assist at St. Margaret's in Lee Summit, where Rice was pastor. Rice died 2/28/2024.

Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list 6/2/2021. Allegedly sexually abused a minor 1978-1980. Richard died in 6/17/1991 in Lake Park, FL.

Placed on leave in 4/2002 after the Diocese learned that police were investigating Richard due to allegations of child sexual abuse. Two men filed suit in 6/2002 alleging Richard abused them while he was assigned to Our Lady of Mercy in Merrimack 1973-1982. Richard retired in late 5/2003. The criminal investigation was still ongoing at the time. Claims were likely part of a 5/2003 settlement involving 61 plaintiffs. Assigned to a life of prayer and penance and deceased, per the Diocese's list 7/31/2019. Accused in a lawsuit that settled in 4/2020 in the low five figures of fondling a boy, age 17, in 1987, in the St. John Neumann Parish rectory in Merrimack.

Arrested in 1/1997 after found with a 14-year-old boy in a van parked on a dead-end road at 1:30 in the morning. Richard claimed the boy had problems and wanted to talk. Placed on leave and suspended from priestly ministry. Richard and the boy both denied any wrong-doing and charges were dropped. Bishop wanted further evaluation. Soon after charges were dropped, Richard was "quietly forced to resign."

Sued in 11/2005. Accused of the sexual abuse of the twin daughters that he admittedly fathered. The "affair" began when the girls' mother was a student at Weston Jesuit School of Theology in Cambridge in the late 1970s and he was her professor. It continued for several years until the girls were born in 1985. He become a professor at Boston University. He said he paid child support regularly and never abused the girls. The Order knew of the girls from the time of their birth. Richard died 7/6/2016 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Residence in Tewksbury, MA.

Given name Donald Loiselle. Joined the Marists in 1949. Professed first vows in 1951. School teacher, principal, guidance counselor, athletic director, finance officer. Worked in MA, NY, NJ, PA. Named publicly as accused by Attorney Mitchell Garabedian in 5/2021. Richard allegedly sexually abused a girl, ages 15-17, 1986-1988, while assigned to Roselle Catholic High School in Roselle, NJ. The girl was a student. A claim in the case was settled in 2021 in the low six figures. Richard celebrated 75 years as a Marist brother in 2026.

Accused in a 2020 lawsuit(s) of the sexual abuse of a minor(s). Per his obituary, Richard was assigned to a St. Mary's in Potsdam after ordination until 1951 when he became an Army chaplain. Worked in Korea 1952-53, Vietnam 1968-69, and in Europe, South America and Panama. Returned to the Ogdensburg diocese, assigned 1972-1996 to Sacred Heart, then chaplain of Mater Dei College and later of St. Joseph's Home. He died 2/14/07.

Principal of Knoxville Catholic High School. Confronted by parents of three children in 1984. Per the  Diocese and Richards, they paid the parents a settlement. Sent for treatment. Left the priesthood in 1989. Richards and Edward McKeown abused many of the same boys. Richards confessed to molesting 25 boys. No legal action due to the statute of limitations. Living in FL at last report. In a deposition, he admitted to sexual relationships with two priests. Included on the Nashville diocese's list 11/21/2018, which notes he was "dismissed from the priesthood of the diocese" 3/1/1989. On Knoxville diocese's list as of 3/6/2020.

Named publicly as accused of the sexual abuse of a minor(s) by the Crookston diocese on its list sometime after 9/21/2017. Categorized under "internal and/or independent investigation has not been able to substantiate that a claim made was credible. Some of these individuals have been named in lawsuits."

Named publicly as accused by the Jackson diocese on its list 3/19/2019. Removed from ministry in 2010. Died 3/26/2014. Per the list, abuse occurred 1987-1990 in Aberdeen, reported in 2014. Also accused of abuse of a minor in 2005 in West Liberty, KY. On the Glenmary order's list 10/11/2019, which notes that Richardson left the order in 2007. On the Charlotte diocese's list 12/29/2019. On the Lexington diocese's list in 8/2020. On Cincinnati's list in 1/2020. Included in 11/2021 on the Nashville diocese's list.

Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list in 10/2018. The list notes a report in 1988 of abuse occurring in 1967. Richardson was removed from ministry. He died in NC 3/31/2021 and was buried in his native Norwood MA.

Placed on leave in 6/2009 after an allegation by an anonymous plaintiff in a newly filed civil suit. The plaintiff said he was abused by Richardson on two occasions in the 1960s. Richardson denied all allegations. Had worked since 1982 as a drug and alcohol counselor. In 1989 he was assigned to the Center for Pastoral Care. Part-time chaplain of St. Edmond's Academy. Faculties restored by the Diocese 11/19/2009 after its investigation could not find credible evidence. Died 2/14/2014.

Named publicly as accused by the Archdiocese on its list 1/25/2019, which notes multiple substantiated allegations of abuse, occurring in 1999. Richardson was laicized in 2005.

Accused of abusing several youths. At least seven known victims in two parishes from the 1980s. Confidential settlements pre-1992. Forced from the priesthood in 1992 and laicized in 1997. Allegations substantiated. Later turned up working as a music director/organist in another Toledo parish. Banned in 2002. Included on the Diocese of Toledo's list. Found working in the Detroit area in 1/2011 as a church organist. Removed. Included on the Detroit archdiocese's 6/10/2019 list of credibly accused. Died 7/21/2020.

In 10/2020 the Archdiocese announced that it investigated recent claims against Richling of the sexual abuse of minors, and deemed the allegations substantiated. Richling retired in 1997 and continued involvement in ministry until at least 2006. He died 12/23/2019. Per the NE Attorney General in 11/2021, Chancellor Rev. Michael Gutsgell knew in 1980 of allegations against Richling, and did nothing. Included in 10/2021 on the Omaha archdiocese's list, which notes multiple allegations of the sexual abuse of boys, occurring 1978-1981 and 1990-1992.

"Charlie." Criminally charged in 6/15/2020 with repeated sexual assault of a girl. In 3/2020 his victim told police that between 9/2016 and 5/2017 Richmond would inappropriately touch her, have her sit on his lap and hug her, and was in constant communication via social media. The incidents occurred at McDonell Area Catholic High School, where Richmond was chaplain. He admitted to three to four incidents of sexual contact. Removed from public ministry. Pleaded no contest in 11//2021 and, in a plea deal, was found guilty of fourth-degree sexual assault. Sentenced in 12/2021 to 12 months probation. Added in 6/2026 to the Diocese's list of accused, with one substantiated allegation. 

Member of the Franciscan Friars, Province of St. John the Baptist. Retired. Accused in 9/2019 of sexual abuse occurring over 30 years prior in the Cincinnati area. Included on the Franciscans' list of those with substantiated allegations against them. Noted to have been removed from ministry. Included on the Cincinnati archdiocese's list in 2/2022.

Assigned after ordination for four years to St. Anne's Parish in Santa Monica, CA. Moved to Mexico in 1974; spent the next 21 years ministering to indigenous people in the Diocese of San Cristobal de las Casas. Expelled by the Mexican government in 1995 for believed political activism. Worked in the Diocese of Phoenix, AZ  1996-1997 (on its list as "Lawrence" Riebe). The L.A. archdiocese began notifying dioceses throughout the country in early 2008 that it had several credible allegations against Riebe of sexual misconduct with minors dating from the early 1970s. As of 2008, Riebe was incardinated in the Diocese of San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas. Allowed in 2009 and 2011 to stay at St. Timothy's Catholic Community rectory in Mesa AZ. Was believed to be residing in L.A. in 2016. Died in 2018. Included on the Phoenix diocese's list of accused in 12/2019 (as "Lawrence" Riebe).

Named publicly as credibly accused by the diocese on its list of in 4/2019. Resigned in 1985. Removed in 1989.

Admitted in 2002 to molesting three girls in the 1980s and one in the 1990s. Pleaded guilty in early 2003 and sentenced in a plea bargain in 6/2003 to one year in jail in the 1990s case. His victim filed a lawsuit 12/2002 which settled in 2003 for $500K. A woman told the Vicar General in the early 1990s that Rieder had molested her daughter; he promised that Rieder would never minister publicly again. Rieder retired in 1996; privileges were not removed until 2002. Another civil suit settled in 10/2005 for $17.5K. There were at least 9 accusers in all. Named on the St. Cloud diocese's list issued 1/3/2014. Died 5/18/2013. Two more suits were filed 8/25/2015 by women claiming sexual abuse as girls in the 1960s by Rieder. Assignments included parishes in Alexandria, Randall, Kimball, Morris, Roscoe, Paynesville, Little Falls, Sobieski and St. Cloud.

In 2011 Bishop O'Connell received complaints that Riedlinger had engaged in explicit sexting, emails and verbal conversations with seminary students. The Bishop sent Riedlinger to counseling and lectured him. Two men set up an internet sting in 2012; Riedlinger exchanged over 1200 explicit text messages and emails with whom he thought was 16-year-old old boy. The men (supported by three others) gave transcripts of the exchanges to the bishop in 2012. Riedlinger was removed and sent to in-patient treatment. His privileges were permanently removed in 10/2013.

Msgr. Rieiffer (misspelled "Reiffer" in media reports) was accused in a lawsuit filed in 5/2016 of sexually abusing and raping a girl beginning in 1952, when she was 6-years-old. The abuse allegedly occurred many times in the rectory of Immaculate Conception parish, Las Vegas. The girl was said to have been a parishioner and student of the parish school. Rieffer died 9/7/1991.

A suit filed in 2/2009 alleged abuse of a youth at St. Francis Minor Seminary in Troutdale, OR in the early 1960s. Riffel was dean of discipline for the school and would allegedly call the teenager out of class to abuse him. Also believed to have abused in Santa Barbara, CA 1941-1942 and 1975-1976. Died in 1977. Included on the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans' list 5/31/2019. On the Las Cruces diocese's list 6/24/2019, where he was assigned in 1968.

Seminarian. Named publicly as accused on the Jesuits Northeast Province list 1/15/2019. It notes a report in 1969 of abuse of minors 1964-1966, and that he admitted to the abuse. Riforgiato left the Jesuits in 1972. Taught for 27 years at Penn State's Shenango Valley campus and reportedly "focused on youth activities." Died in 1999. Two lawsuits filed in 8/2019 alleged sexual assault of a child and rape of another. One was filed on behalf of a victim who died by suicide at age 32.

Monsignor. Director of Catholic Charities for over 36 years and other prominent chancery positions. The Diocese received a report in 4/1987 that Rigney fondled a 12- or -13-year-old girl. There was a complaint in 1989 that Rigney fired a Holy Family Manor nurse's aid because she resisted his sexual advances. In 4/2002 a woman told the Diocese that Rigney molested her 1966-1967, when she was age 9 or 10 and he was assigned to St. Peter's in Reading. She said Rigney also molested her sister. Rigney requested early retirement in 4/2002 for 'medical reasons.' Sued in 1/2004 for the alleged abuse of a 9-year-old girl. Included in the 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury Report and on the Diocese's 8/19/208 list of credibly accused. Per the Diocese's list in 2/2025, Rigney died 3/7/2024.

Monsignor. In a 1994 RICO lawsuit Rigney and two other priests were accused of abusing two brothers 1963-1978. Suit dismissed; both settled in 3/2003. Diocese said allegations were not credible. Rigney died in 1992. He was a brother of accused priest Philip Rigney. Name included on the Diocese's list 2/13/2019.

Monsignor. Director of Vocations, accused of insuring a continuous inflow of child molesters into the Camden diocese. Named as an abuser in three lawsuits, including attorney Stephen Rubino's 1994 RICO suit. The sexual abuse of two boys was reported to the bishop in 1984. Subject of a 2003 settlement. Retired in 1986 and worked part time in Palm Beach, FL. Permission removed in 1994 but he kept working. Permanently suspended in 2002. Brother of accused priest Dennis Rigney. Died 10/11/2005. Name included on the Diocese's list of credibly accused 2/13/2019.

A man said in 2002 he was sexually abused by Riley over a four-year period in the late 1950s at the Elm Bank Minor Seminary. The alleged victim told the Stigmatine's head at the time of the abuse; Riley was transferred. When the man brought the matter to the order's attention again in 2002, they admitted knowledge of the original complaint and said the information was not shared with anyone and was not entered into Riley's records. Riley died in 1995.

Author, actor, and former spokesman for the church. Well-known for his radio ministry and as a fixture on the old God Squad TV show. Subject of a complaint by a female parishioner who accused him of having contact short of intercourse with her in the early 1970s, beginning when she was 16. Matter referred to the D.A.'s office in 8/2002 and Riley was allowed to "resign."

Accused on 12/10/2014 of sexually abusing a 4th grade altar boy in Dubuque IA starting in 10/1985 at morning Mass. A 2/18/2015 letter by Dubuque Archbishop Jackels about allegation was reprinted in the 3/1/2015 bulletin of the parish where the abuse is alleged to have been committed, after Archdiocese received the accuser's lawsuit on 2/10/2015 and the review board deemed the allegation "not manifestly false or frivolous" on 2/11/2015. A preliminary investigation began then. Riley worked in 16 Dubuque parishes from 1982 until 2002, when he transferred to the Venice FL diocese; incardinated in 2005. Placed on temporary leave by Venice Bishop Dewane sometime between 1/4/2015 and 1/11/2015, pending the results of Dubuque's investigation. Riley "strenuously denie[d]" the allegation. Jackels announced 7/12/2015 that his investigation did not find the allegation to be true; survivor stated the inquiry was incomplete. Riley reportedly passed a polygraph test. He was reinstated, took a leave, and then returned to St. Peter the Apostle in Naples in 10/2015. Per a 7/2020 lawsuit, Riley, along with the school's music teacher, Alan Klispie, sexually abused a boy in the 2000s at St. Charles School in Port Charlotte FL. The boy allegedly had reported to Riley that he was being abused by Kilspie and begged for help. The abuse is said to have occurred when the boy was in pre-K through 8th grade. He said Riley silenced him with threats. He was kept in ministry. Accused on 5/5/2023 of child sexual abuse 1985-1986 in Dubuque. Placed on leave by the Venice bishop pending investigation. Another allegation was reported 5/23/2023 to Dubuque. Riley was arrested in 4/24/2024 in FL for the abuse of four altar boys, all under age 12, in Dubuque 1984-1986 at Resurrection Parish. He pleaded not guilty 5/28/2024. Trial was set for 7/30/2024. The case was dismissed 7/15/2024, due to the statute of limitations. Three new civil lawsuits were filed in FL in 10/2024 by three former Iowa altar boys, claiming abuse by Riley in the 1980s. In 6/2025 the Archdiocese was dismissed from the lawsuits because of lack of jurisdiction. Riley died 12/16/2025 in Punta Gorda, FL. In 3/2026 a FL judge granted a motion to continue the civil trial.

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 7/20 of sexually abusing a minor beginning in 1956, when the minor was age 15 and Riley was a teacher at Aquinas Institute of Rochester. Died 5/15/84.

Named publicly as accused by Attorney Mitchell Garabedian on 5/7/2019. Ring died 6/14/1986.

"Fr. Bud." Accused in a lawsuit filed 5/19/2015 of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy in 1989 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, Pembroke Pines FL. Allegations include his wrestling naked with the boy, and that he abused other children similarly. The lawsuit claims the Archdiocese was informed of the allegations in 1989 but allowed Ringenberger to work at another parish after sending him away for a year. He died in 2016.

From Ireland. Worked in MA, Liberia, NJ, MD. Retired in 2005, living until at least 2011 at his order's provincialate in Tenafly, NJ. Accused in a claim settled in 2020 in the mid-five figures of sexually abusing a girl, ages 13-14, in 1961-1962, while assigned to Queen of Apostles Seminary in Dedham, MA.

Monsignor. A child molestation suit settled in 1995 named Riordan and three other priests. Plaintiff alleged abuse at House of Affirmation in the Worcester diocese. Riordan denied any sexual involvement with the plaintiff. He served on the board of Community Organization for Parents and Youth (COPAY), a Long Island nonprofit that counseled drug-addicted teens. COPAY denied current affiliation. Riordan was appointed pastor of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Great Neck in 1998, where he remained until his retirement in 2015. Moved to Florida.

Accused in 2/26/2004 lawsuit of forcing a 16-year-old girl to have intercourse and, when she got pregnant, offering her money from the NY parish collection and urging her to get an abortion. Rios knew the girl from catechism class, offered her GED tutoring, and then used a confidence about her violent father to begin the abuse and coerce her silence. Another priest promised to help her but didn't. Rios also worked in the Dioceses of Worcester MA, San Juan PR, and possibly Boston MA.

In a 1/2019 letter to Alumni, Regis High School in NYC officials named former faculty members who had been accused of abuse of minors, including Rippon. Per the letter, Rippon's case did not meet the standards to be included on the Jesuits' Northeast Province list of those with credible allegations against them. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 6/2021 under the NY Child Victims act of sexually abusing a boy, age 15, in 1969 at Regis High School in NYC. The boy was a student. The abuse allegedly occurred about three times in Rippon's office. Rippon worked at Regis 1967-1983 and 1984-1985. Prior to ordination he taught at St. Xavier High School in NYC 1957-1960. He died in 1986.

From Iraq. Deacon for 21 years. Assigned to St. Joseph Chaldean in Troy when arrested in 10/2018, alleged to have sexually assaulted a young boy at church 5/2017-10/2/2018. Suspended. Found guilty 9/29/2019. Sentenced in 9/2019 to at least four years in prison.

In 5/02 Bishop announced he had removed Riss from his assignment at St. Mary's in Lemmon after Riss admitted that he had sexually abused a 17-year-old boy in the early 1980s, prior to entering the seminary. Review board had not yet evaluated the case as of 2/03. Laicize 5/7/04. Died 5/30/09. On diocese's list in 3/19. It notes multiple allegations, the first received by diocese in 1984. Reported abuse occurred 1980 and 1990.

Worked in IL, New Guinea, OH, PA. Died in 1998. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Divine Word Missionaries Chicago Province on its list 4/18/2021, which notes abuse occurred in the 1950s in Papua New Guinea. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report.

Accused in 12/2005 of abuse of a youth in 1977. Review board deemed the allegations credible. Placed on leave. A second man alleged in 2/2006 that Ritchey gave him drugs and alcohol and attempted to molest him in 1978, when the man was senior in high school. Teaching certificate revoked by the state in 11/2006. In 2016 a man spoke publicly about being molested at age 16 by Ritchey in 1974. He said he asked Ritchey how many other kids he did that with, and Ritchey told him "I have several 'special friends' from my parish." The man's mother was a cousin of newly ordained and later Bishop Nienstedt, who introduced Ritchey to him. Nienstedt reportedly was told of the abuse, and did nothing. On diocese's list 3/1/2019. Noted to have been laicized and to be deceased.

Monsignor. Rector of St. Patrick's Cathedral beginning in 2006. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 7/21 under the NY Child Victims Act of sexually abusing a child about 50 years previously. Ritchie denied the allegations.

Suspended on 3/26/2018, accused of the sexual abuse of two altar boys at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the 1990s. One accuser said he was 10-13 when abused, and that he witnessed the abuse of the other boy, now deceased. Also, he said Riter would invite him to play games in the rectory after mass, then abuse him. He told his aunt in 2007; she took notes. The other boy's mother said her son told her at age 12 in 1997 that Riter tried to "play with" him underneath his robe on the altar during mass. She also said she told a cousin who worked for the Diocese, who said "we'll look into it." The cousin claimed in 2018 not to remember. A third alleged victim was discovered by a news outlet in 5/2018. A former seminarian said that in 1992 he walked in on Riter sexually abusing a 6-year-old boy, and told Bishops Head and Grosz in a letter. He said they told him to keep it quiet. Per the Diocese in 6/2018 the claims were unsubstantiated; Riter was reinstated. A new lawsuit was filed in 8/2019 by the first accuser under the Child Victims Act. Riter died 2/8/2020.

Retired three times between 1996 and 2002 and went on leave of absence in 1997. Died 6/26/2006.  Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list 2/13/2019. One alleged victim noted. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 1/2021 of sexually abusing a child 1981-1982, while assigned to Holy Cross in Rumson.

Established Covenant House in Greenwich Village in the early 1970s as a shelter and foundation for homeless and troubled youth. Complaints of sexual abuse of teen boys date back as far as the 1950s. Complaints documented in book, "Broken Covenant" by C. Sennott, 1992. Civil suit. Forced to resign in 1990 after allegations. Refused counseling, resigned from the order in 1991, reportedly joined an overseas diocese. Died in 1999. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 7/21 in Manhattan of sexually abusing a boy, ages 13-16, beginning in 1981. His accuser, who was a Covenant House resident, said that Ritter gave him gifts and clothing, and that the abuse included forcing him to have sex with other men, including Covenant House donors. 

Named publicly as accused by the Franciscans Santa Barbara Province on its list in 11/2023. Subject of one or more pending lawsuits. Credibility of allegations not yet determined. Died 5/28/2019. Per his obituary, Rivas was a Franciscan for 63 years.

In lawsuits filed in 5/2003 and 6/2003, three women claimed Rives sexually abused them as girls 1962-1964. Rives died in 1971. His name was originally shown as "Joseph Reeves." At least two suits were dismissed in 12/2003 for being filed too late (more than one year after 4/2002 Louisville notice date).
