Ordained for the permanent diaconate in 2023. Assigned to St. Patrick Havre de Grace and St. Joan of Arc in Aberdeen, then in 2025 to St. Margaret's in Bel Air until 7/2026 when he transferred to St. Ignatius in Hickory. Prior to becoming a deacon, Goedeke worked at St. Isaac Jogues Parish 2005-2012 and John Carroll High School 2020-2026. He was arrested 8/6/2026, charged with the sexual solicitation of a minor. Goedeke had arranged to meet with a 15-year-old boy for sexual activity; the boy was actually an undercover detective.

Named in a case settled in 8/2008 as having sexually abused a boy who had been sent to him for counseling, beginning when the boy was age 12 in about 1988, and continuing into the boy's adulthood. As pastor of St. Joseph the Carpenter in Roselle, Gillen hired his alleged victim to lead youth activities. The alleged victim, John Schulte, was arrested in 11/2002 and convicted for the sexual assault of three boys in the parish. Gillen remained in active ministry.

Parish priest, pastor. Held prominent chancery positions, including as Vice-Chancellor, Chancellor, Pro-Synodal Judge, Vicar General, and Vicar. Retired in 2004. Named as accused in the MI Attorney General's 6/25/2026 Diocese of Saginaw Report. In 2004 Gavit admitted to sexual involvement with a teenage girl decades prior, after his victim contacted the Diocese. Diocesan records show that the plan was for Gavit to retire and undergo an evaluation at St. Luke Institute. Gavit apologized to the woman and gave her a monetary settlement. He died 3/2/2017.

In 1997 the Diocese received a report that Gardiner had engaged in unwanted sexual touching with a man who had reached out to him while feeling suicidal. Gardiner admitted to the incident, which occurred in 12/1996. In 2015 a man reported sexual assault by Gardiner and Fr. Ronald Gronowoski numerous times when he was age 17 in the early 1980s. The alleged victim said that the priests paid him to keep quiet. The Diocese deemed the allegations against Gardiner not credible. In 2019 the man said that Gardiner was a life-long friend and that nothing sexual happened between them. Ministry restricted in 1/2024 after Bishop Walsh met with the Diocesan Review Board. Gardiner died 2/1/2025.

Assigned to St. Philip's in Franklin in 11/2023 when placed on leave pending the investigation of a report that he had improperly touched a teenage boy. Indicted in 2/2024. Indicted on two new charges of sexual battery on 6/5/2024. Pleaded guilty. Sentenced in 7/2025 to seven years in prison and to be registered as a sex offender. Was to be laicized.

Gaskin's name is included in 10/2021 on the Franciscans' Holy Name Province's list of those with substantiated allegations against them of child sexual abuse. No details provided as to when or where the abuse occurred. He died in 2010. (Placing him for now in the New York archdiocese, where the Province is based.)

"Ted." Arrested 6/12/2025 in Los Osos. In 8/2024 a man reported to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office that Gabrielli sexually abused him and two other young boys in his family about 30 years prior, over a period of eight years. The abuse allegedly included rape. The boys lived in Mexico where Gabrielli became a friend of the family. He took the boys on trips to California, where the abuse allegedly occurred, including at his parents' home in Los Osos. Gabrielli reportedly was assigned to churches and schools in San Jose, Los Gatos and Los Angeles. On 7/8/2025 the District Attorney added six new charges involving a fourth alleged victim under age 14. He pleaded not guilty. All of the alleged abuse occurred 1991-2010.

Named publicly as accused by the Order of St. Augustine's Midwest Province on its list updated in 5/2024. The list notes that Griffin was dismissed from the order in 1978 and died in 2017. The Official Catholic Directory shows that Griffin was a faculty member 1964-1971 at Mendel Catholic High School (for boys) in Chicago, then was assigned to St. Mary Parish in Rockford IL until 1974. Per his obituary, Griffin moved to Canada in 1974. After his dismissal he went on to marry and raise a family.

Per PA AG's 3/1/16 Grand Jury Report, Gaborek molested and brutally sexually assaulted a 16-year-old boy in 1982. Boy ran for help. State Police investigated. Bishop Hogan struck an agreement with police - Gaborek was quietly sent to MI for "treatment" then assigned to another parish. In 1984 Hogan sent Gaborek "on retreat" to Orchard Lake, which was a boys' school. Placed on permanent leave in 7/88. Arrested in 9/89 for sexual assault of a dog in a parking lot. In 5/99, charged with molesting a 14-year-old runaway after giving him beer and showing him porn. Named as "predator priest" in a 2/03 civil suit. Laicization announced in 2004.

Ordained in 1955. Appears to have left the priesthood around 1966-1967. Reportedly in 1968 Gadek was married and became a father. The following year another child was born to the family and they were living in Forked River. In 1972 the couple divorced. Gadek was named publicly as credibly accused by the Archdiocese on its 2/13/2019 list, with multiple alleged victims noted. Further, he was permanently removed from ministry and laicized. In 1/2020 there was a settlement in the mid-six figures. In that case, Gadek was accused of sexually abusing a girl, ages 11-13, in 1960-1962, while assigned to St. Catherine's in Hillside. Two more lawsuits were filed in 8/2025 by two sisters, claiming that Gadek sexually abused them as children 1977-1981, while he was teaching at Forked River Elementary School and Lanoka Harbor Elementary School. The girls were ages 8 and 6 when the sexual abuse started. The abuse is said to have involved Gadek asking them inappropriate questions and taking their photos while making them partially undress and instructing them to masturbate. The sisters said he also fondled them. The girls were living at the time with their grandmother. They said the abuse stopped after they disclosed it to her and she told their school.

Allegations reported to archdiocese in 8/18 of abuse by Gaeta in 1981 or 1982 at St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Ogden. Placed on leave 8/24/18. Military chaplain and hospital chaplain in his native Massachusetts during 1984-2017. Returned to UT 2017. On Salt Lake diocese's list 12/4/18. Retired without faculties.

Monsignor. Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list of accused in 3/21. Abuse allegedly occurred in a church vehicle in West Babylon. No time-frame shown. Retired in 1/11.

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 6/2020 of sexually abusing a child, ages 6-8, in 1992-1994 while assigned to Church of Hoy Infancy in Lake Luzerne. Gaffigan died 4/19/2015. By 9/1/2021 there was another lawsuit against Gaffigan filed under the NY Child Victims Act, claiming abuse in 1974 at St. Michael's in South Glens Falls.

A lawsuit filed in 2004 by a woman alleged she was sexually abused by Gaffney for two years beginning in 1990, when she was age 16 and he was Reading Catholic vice-principal. Per the suit, officials were notified and Gaffney was moved to St. Frances de Chantal in Easton, where he continued to have sex with the plaintiff when she was in college. He was removed from active ministry in 2002. Laicized in 2015. Named in the 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury Report and Allentown diocese's 8/19/2018 list. It shows that sexual abuse was alleged of a 14-year-old girl at 1985-1987, reported to the Diocese in 1999. There were also allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with adult women, one with a learning disability he was counseling. A lawsuit filed in 1/2019 claimed harassment and threats by Gaffney of a former female Albright College student, where he taught after leaving the priesthood in 2002. She dropped the suit in in 6/2019. Per the Diocese's list of credibly accused in 2/2025, Gaffney died in 2024.

Monsignor. Educator for nearly 30 years at Cardinal Hayes HS in the Bronx and St. Joseph by the Sea HS on Staten Island. Pastor for over 20 years of St. Charles on Staten Island. In 10/03 a 29-year-old man alleged sex abuse by Gaffney for three years, beginning when he was a 6th-grader and St. Charles altar boy. The man's attorney said there was evidence of seven other victims. Another man alleged abuse when Gaffney was St. Joseph's HS principal. Kept in ministry. First man sued; Gaffney filed countersuit, died weeks later, on 3/27/04. On archdiocese's list 4/26/19. Claims against Gaffney eligible for IRCP. Suit filed in 8/19.

Officials of the Marist School announced in 1995 that Gage had been removed in 1993 after allegations that he molested a 17-year-old student in 1989. The victim became seriously ill with cancer, during which time Gage molested him. During the investigation, officials learned of another possible victim who was 18 at the time of the alleged abuse. Gage was sent to his Order's headquarters in Washington D.C. Possibly living in the Atlanta area as of 2009. Per the Marist website accessed 10/2017, Gage was a Council of the Province member. Included on the Wheeling-Charleston diocese's list in late 2018. Worked there at St. Vincent de Paul 1979-1981. Included on the Atlanta diocese's list in 11/2020 which notes "Supervised by Order." Included in the 3/24/2023 GA PAC Report.

In 2008 a man reported to the Norbertines that Gaghan, his uncle, fondled him under the covers of his own bed and then performed oral sex on him when he was a youth. The man said his younger brother, who later died of a drug overdose, was also abused by Gaghan, and that an older brother was abused by a priest-friend of Gaghan's. This brother also died of a drug overdose. Gaghan taught at former Saint John Neumann High School in Philadelphia. Investigation by the order found the allegation credible. Gaghan died in 1989. Included on the St. Norbert Abbey in WI list 7/19/2019, which notes one allegation.

Named publicly as accused by the Alexandria Diocese on its list 2/6/2019. Assigned to a Marksville parish for two months in 1974. Transferred to Houston, TX. Removed from public ministry in 1986. Died in 1990. The Diocese reviewed Gagne's file in 2019 and found multiple credible allegations of sexual abuse of male minors in the 1980s. Accused in a civil lawsuit filed 6/11/2024 of sexually abusing an altar boy 1971-1972, while assigned to St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Alexandria. Per the suit, the abuse occurred in several Alexandria locations and on a trip to Monterey, Mexico "to deliver clothes to the needy."

Ordained for the permanent diaconate in 1979. Assigned to St. Joseph Parish in West Warwick and was a teacher at its school 1990-2011. Gagnon was allowed to resign in 6/2011 after he was accused of inappropriately touching at least three 6th-grade boys between 2006 and 2011. The boys were his students. Arrested in 8/2011, charged with three counts of second degree child molestation. Confessed to fondling three boys. Released on bail. Removed from ministry. Pleaded no contest. Sentenced in 4/2013 to 10 years in prison, with one year to serve and the rest suspended with probation. Ordered to register as a Level 3 sex offender. Included on the Diocese's list of credibly accused 7/1/2019. There were at least six accusers, all young boys. Gagnon died in 8/2021.

Ordained for the Society of the Divine Word. Assigned in the Philippines 1968-1981, Southern California 1981-1993, Philippines 1993-1998, Italy 1998-2008. Left the order in 1998. Accused of abuse of a minor in 1977, per the LA Archdiocese report in 2004. Included on the San Bernardino diocese's list 10/9/2018, where he worked 1986-1992 at St. Catherine of Siena in Rialto. Included on the Society of the Divine Word Western Province list.

One of four priests included in a $140K settlement of a lawsuit in 4/2007. Abuse is alleged to have occurred in 1985-1987 at Cardinal Ritter High School. Gaiter "retired from the priesthood" in 1993 or 1994 after exhibiting signs of alzheimer's disease. Another suit filed 11/2007, settled early 2009. Last known to be living at St. Louis University's Jesuit Hall. Died 8/14/2010 at age 70. On Jesuits' Central and Southern Province's list 12/7/2018. Included on the Diocese of Belleville's list 9/20/2022. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report.

Went on leave in 1986. Suspended in 1987. Abused boys in the 1960s-1970s as a priest and Boy Scout troop chaplain. Convicted in 1987 of the sexual abuse of three children, ages 9-13. Sentenced to 25 years. Charges of the abuse of seven others were dropped. Died in 2000. Per his obituary, Galdon had been "serving at the Service of the Paraclete, a home for retired priests in Jemez Springs, New Mexico." It was actually a treatment facility for pedophile priests. Included 2/13/2019 on the Newark archdiocese's list of credibly accused. Three claims settled in 2020 in the six figures.

Reportedly in 2002 there were numerous complaints about Gale's abuse of young boys at Camp Fatima in NH, St. Jude's in Waltham and St. Joseph's in Quincy in 1979, 1981, 1983 and 1987. He was removed from ministry in 1991 but allowed to reside at a parish. There were allegations of abuse from that parish in 1994, 1995 and 1996 lawsuits. Settlement of $80K in 6/1996 with a man who alleged Gale raped him at age 12 in 1979. Arrested in 2002 on charges of raping an altar boy, ages 10-15, at St. Jude's in Waltham 1980-1985. Pleaded guilty in 2004. Sentenced to 4-5 years in prison and probation. Voluntarily laicized in 2006. Named in the 2003 NH Attorney General's report. Released from the Massachusetts Treatment Center for the Sexually Dangerous in 5/2009. On Sex Offender Registry as of 5/15/2011. On the Boston archdiocese's list of accused 8/25/2011.

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 11/2021 of sexually abusing a minor, about age 17, in around 2016. In 2019 Galeano had "relinquished his duties" at St. Joseph's in Bogota NJ after allegations of inappropriate contact with an adult.

Accused of sexual improprieties with a Vietnamese altar boy. He denied the accusations. Suspended from ministry. Civil suit filed. Archdiocese settled with the boy's family for $75K in 1985. Reassigned. Retired in 5/1986. Permanently removed in 2002 after admitting abuse of three youths. Sued by seven. Included on the San Diego diocese's list 3/31/2007. Personnel file released 10/25/2010. Per the diocese's list in 9/2018, Galindo is deceased.

First named publicly as accused in the 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury Report. Included on the Diocese's 8/19/2018 list of credibly accused. The Diocese was aware of issues as early as 1984. Galko admitted to sex with an 18-year-old male parishioner and to incidents with other males over the years, pre- and post-seminary and ordination. There were concerns in 1987 about his spending too much time with altar servers and his interaction with adolescent boys. He was sent to the Vianney Center in Downingtown PA for treatment. Placed on leave in 1988. In 2002 there was a report to the Diocese of abuse the sexual abuse of a male, age 17-18, in 1980 or 1981. There was another report in 2007 of the abuse of a 13-year-old 8th grade boy from St. Anne's in Bethlehem. Galko acknowledged the abuse. Both victims said Galko plied them with alcohol. He was laicized in 2010.

On 1/03/2014 the Diocese of St. Cloud released the names of 33 clergy, including Gall, involved in incidents of likely claims of the sexual abuse of minors. Retired in 1993. Died 5/13/2004.

From Ireland. Missionary in Japan for 20 years, briefly returned to Ireland, then was sent to the U.S. in 1973, reportedly due to abuse allegations in Japan. Retired in 1995 to Bristol, RI. Died in 2014. Accused in two lawsuits, one filed in 2017 and one in 8/2018, of the sexual abuse of two brothers when they were children, 1973-1976. Gallagher was assigned at the time of the alleged abuse to St. Mark's in Dorchester MA, where the boys' mother worked. One lawsuit settled in 11/2021 in the high five figures. The suit also named Rev. John K. Connell. Included in 2/2022 on the Columbans' U.S. Province list of credibly accused. Two allegations noted, of abuse 1973-1980. Included in the 3/4/2026 RI Attorney General's Report.

Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 8/19/18. Died in 2001.

Gallagher was a prison chaplain and parish priest in PA early in his priesthood. Per the Official Catholic Directory, Edward M. Gallagher was a Philadelphia priest on leave of absence at least 1930-1948. By 1949 he was indexed as a Sante Fe priest assigned to a Trappist Monastery in Dubuque IA, and in 1952 he was shown as at St. Francis Home in Dubuque. He worked in the Santa Fe archdiocese from 1953 until his death in 1969. He was chaplain for 15 years at St. Anthony's Boys Home in Albuquerque. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 8/2020 of sexually abusing a boy who resided at the Home. The abuse included rape. The plaintiff, in his late 60s, said that he and other boys were sexually and physically abused by the chaplain, visiting priests and Sisters of St. Francis, who ran the Home. He said he was abused from the age of 6 until he escaped at age 13, and that he was Gallagher's "captive sex toy." Gallagher's name is included on the Archdiocese of Santa Fe's list of accused in 10/2020. (The list shows him as an OFM Franciscan, but other sources do not show that he was a member of the Order.)

Arrested in 1989 for solicitation of two young men, ages 18 and 20. Also admitted abuse of two teenage brothers. Placed in treatment in 1990 and reassigned to parish in 1991. Placed on leave in 2002 and petitioned for laicization. Laicization announced in 11/06. Name is included on secret 1994 memo from Wm. Lynn to Msgr. James Molloy (released 2/27/12) regarding priests in secret archives who were guilty of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Monsignor. Accused of abuse of two minors, per L.A. Report. One woman alleged abuse 1953-1962 in a 2003 civil suit. Retired in 1979. Died in 1983. Personnel file released in 1/2013.

Ordained in Boston for the Diocese of Kansas City. Assigned to a parish for three years. Moved to the Youngstown diocese in 1944. Worked in parishes for several years, then was "awaiting appointment." Assigned as chaplain to a hospice, then to a hospital. Sick leave 1958-1959, then assigned to a parish until 1964. Absent on sick leave 1964-1965. Retired in 1965. Died in 1991 in Charlestown, MA. First named publicly as accused on the diocese's list 10/29/2018. Allegations noted to have been reported after his death.

A woman filed suit in 2/2002 alleging abuse in 1950 by Rev. "Bernard" Gallagher at Holy Trinity Church. Her attorney said this was actually John Donald Gallagher. She claimed she was a 4th-grader and confessed to the priest that she had touched herself, and that he responded by molesting her. The woman said she developed obsessive-compulsive disorders the next year, washing her hands as often as 20 times a day. Gallagher died in 1968. Included on the archdiocese's list of accused in 2019.

Worked in MA, NY, PA and FL. In a 2005 civil lawsuit, a woman accused Gallagher of sexually abusing her as a child at St. Mary's in Lawrence MA 1972-1978. The suit involved multiple plaintiffs and named multiple priests as defendants. Attorney Durso said that almost all claims were settled. Gallagher died 12/12/2006. Omitted from the 2011 Boston AD database because he was an Order priest. The Augustinians settled in 6/2018 for $1M to eight plaintiffs claiming abuse by two priests, including Gallagher. Three were women who said Gallagher abused them as girls at St. Mary's. All were between ages 9-12 years when allegedly abused. A settlement of $1.4M was announced in 8/2020 of a suit alleging the sexual abuse of 11 children, boys and girls, at St. Mary's 1974-1978. The children's ages ranges from 8-14 when abused. In 10/2021 Attorney Garabedian announced that a 15th claim against Gallagher had recently settled, in the low six figures.

Named publicly as accused by the Charlotte diocese on its list 12/29/2019. Accused in 9/1971 of recently inappropriately touching a teenage girl at Our Lady of Lourdes in Monroe, where he was filling in one weekend. The parish was in the Diocese of Raleigh at the time, prior to the creation of the Charlotte diocese. The girl's family did not press charges. The Oratorians restricted Gallagher's ministry. He died 11/14/1976. Per a 1974 news report about a trip he took to Ireland, Gallagher had spent the previous 36 years visiting various SC churches to preach on Sundays. Added to the Diocese of Charleston's list 12/31/2019.

First named publicly as accused on the diocese's list 10/29/2018. Allegation noted to have been reported after his death. Died 1/3/1974.

Also referred to as J. Joseph Gallagher. Former editor of The Catholic Review. Retired in 1985. Name included on the Archdiocese's list of accused priests in 9/2002, which notes an allegation in 1986 of abuse of a 14-year-old boy in 1980. Gallagher's accuser met with officials in 1993. "Gallagher admitted inappropriate conduct and his faculties to perform ministry were removed." Gallagher objected to his inclusion on the list, saying the "incident involved only a massage of a 14-year-old boy that occurred 21 years ago but involved no genital touching." He died in 2015. Included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General's Report.

Per the 2/10/2011 Grand Jury Report II, a man told the archdiocese in 2007 that Gallagher repeatedly fondled him when he was a 7- or 8-year-old altar boy at St. Mark's in Bristol, PA. Another man had  made a similar allegation the previous year. The man who came forward in 2007 reported that others had also been abused. The Review Board deemed both reports unsubstantiated in 2008. The man who came forward in 2007 died by suicide within a year of the Review Board's decision. Gallagher "retired." He was removed in 2/2011. New suits in 4/2011 and 9/2012. Found unfit for ministry in 4/2013. Permanently removed. Died 6/5/1208. Funeral mass concelebrated by Bishop Maginnis.

Accused of abuse of a 12-year-old boy in early-mid 1970s. Archdiocese notified in 1974. Sent for treatment and reassigned. Placed on leave in 2002; ministry permanently restricted in 2004. Living a supervised life. Civil suit filed 12/03.

Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list 1/2/2020. Removed from ministry. Married in 6/1986 and raised a family. Laicized. Lived in Hilliard OH, where he died in 2010.

Accused in a 2020 lawsuit of sexually abusing a minor in 1967 at Sacred Heart of Jesus in New York NY. Director of Youth Counseling for New York Catholic Charities. Died unexpectedly at age 50 in 1968.

First named publicly as accused on the archdiocese's list 10/15/2018. It notes that the archdiocese first first received a report of abuse by Gallagher in 1992, and that he was removed from ministry. He died in 2012.

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese on its list 8/22/2019. Placed on leave 5/22/2002, then resigned. Retired 6/19/2002. Died 10/13/2003.

Sued in 2002. Accused of abusing a girl over a two-year period, beginning when she was age 16 in 1980. He claimed she was 18. Brother of Alfred Gallant, also an accused abuser. On archdiocese's list 4/26/19. Removed from ministry. Laicized.

Gallatin was removed from his Mendota parish in 12/2013 after a review of his personnel file by an outside agency found reference to an incident of inappropriate conduct with teenage boy, occurring around 1998. No actions were taken in 1998. Evaluation, counseling and monitoring were ordered in 12/2013; the act was classified as a boundary violation, not a crime. The matter was reported to criminal authorities and another review was conducted. The Review Board determined in 6/2014 that "significant restrictions" were to be placed on Gallatin with continued monitoring and limited ministry not involving children. Allegations surfaced that he abused the same boy on a 1998 mission trip to WV. He was reassigned to a position with no parish responsibilities or contact with youth. The Archdiocese stated 7/2/2014 that Gallatin was scheduled to attend graduate school at Catholic University in WDC; that assignment was withdrawn in 8/2014 after protests. Gallatin's removal from ministry was announced 9/2/2015 after a new Ministerial Review Board found sufficient evidence of abuse. The case was referred to Rome for adjudication. Gallatin's laicization was announced in 10/2021.

New York Province Jesuit. Accused publicly in 2004 of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy in 1980 in Toledo, OH and in CA. The Jesuit Provincial in NY wrote to the alleged victim in 1993 and enclosed a letter of apology from Gallen. Gallen sent another letter in 1994. Settlement in 1994 for $50K. Gallen remained active until 2003. He died 4/17/2011. Included on the Jesuits Midwest Province list 12/17/2018. On the Phoenix diocese's list where he was at some point Director of Liturgy. On the Northeast Province Jesuits list 1/15/2019, which notes allegations of the abuse of minors 1970s-1980s. "Impeded" in 2001. Added to the Baltimore archdiocese's list 4/24/2019. Worked in the archdiocese at Woodstock College 1968-1975. On the Toledo diocese's list. Mentioned in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General's Report.

Ordained for the Diocese of Covington. Incardinated into the Lexington diocese when it was established in 1988. Permanently removed from ministry in 2003. Accused of abuse of a girl for four years, beginning when she was 13 in 1980 at Holy Family in Ashland, and then stalking her for another 10 years. Name was revealed in support of allegations in a court case regarding abuse by another priest. In 3/2006 the diocese announced that the allegations were credible. Vatican was asked to laicize him. Included on the Covington diocese's list 7/31/2020 of those with substantiated allegation(s). On the Lexington diocese's list in 8/2020. One known victim, who sued in 2003; settled. Gallenstein admitted to the abuse.

Visiting priest from Ecuador at St. Mary's in Plainfield NJ. In 4/2003 a 15-year-old boy, who was a St. Mary's youth group member, told his priest-cousin and a youth group leader Gallo Espinoza raped him in a parish rectory bedroom. It was reported less than two weeks later by Catholic Charities to the prosecutor's office. Gallo Espinoza was told by the Archdiocese that he could no longer minister. He fled to Ecuador and the investigation closed. In 2010 the boy, then a young adult, filed a police report. The Archdiocesan Review Board deemed the allegation credible and recommended laicization. In 2005 Gallo Espinoza had returned to the U.S. and taught in a middle school and a high school in MD and VA. He abruptly fled in 2/2014. In 7/2015 his whereabouts were unknown. The criminal investigation re-opened. He was found in 8/2015 to be in Ecuador, and admitted to a "sexual encounter" with the boy. The victim filed a criminal complaint; an arrest warrant was issued in 1/2016. Gallo Espinoza  was still at large when indicted in 5/2016. His name was included 2/13/2019 on the Archdiocese's list of credibly accused, noted to have been permanently removed from ministry. Gallo Espinoza died by suicide in Ecuador 7/2/2022 after shooting three people, killing one.

in In a civil suit filed 10/2003, 27 victims alleged sexual abuse by 24 priests, including Gallo. One plaintiff said Gallo abused him around 1966. Gallo denied it. Gallo was the only priest of the 24 who had an active parish assignment at the time. In 3/2004, the Diocese announced that the review board found the allegations against Gallo unsubstantiated, and he was allowed to continue in ministry. Per the Diocese's list in 2/2019, Gallo was permanently removed from ministry 6/26/2018. He was accused in a claim settled in 2021 in the mid-six figures of sexually abusing a boy, ages 9-10, 1983-1985, while assigned to Blessed Sacrament in Brooklyn. Died 6/6/2023.

Died in 2012. Named publicly as accused by the Archdiocese on its list 7/26/2019, which notes substantiated allegations, received after Galovich's death.

Full name Lucas Antonia Galvan Valdez. Pleaded guilty in 1989 to sexually fondling an 11-year-old girl; sentenced to 1- or 2- year suspended jail sentence and deferred adjudication. Sent to Via Coeli in NM for treatment. Charges then dismissed. Girl settled a lawsuit against the Pueblo diocese for more than $90K. Reportedly through the international Theatine Fathers, Galvan was able to move to Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1992 before finding sanctuary in Mexico City. He moved to the Archdiocese of Mexico City in 1997 where the bishop was aware of his conviction. Still active there until removed from ministry in Mexico City 4/22/2010, after a Mexican magazine publicized the case. Apparently allowed to work in other Mexico dioceses. On the Las Cruces diocese's list 6/24/2019, where he worked in 1991.

From Italy. Ordained in Italy for the Dominican Order. Worked in the Columbus OH diocese beginning in the 1950s. Retired in 1985. Died 11/21/2009 at age 93. Named publicly by the diocese in 9/2019 as credibly accused.

Removed 8/15/2014. Investigated by police for alleged internet-related sex crimes involving at least one teenage boy. Computers and hard drives seized from rectory of St. Joseph's in Los Banos where he had worked since 2009. Police said parishioners were uncomfortable with Gamel's behavior with young males, including rubbing the back of a sleeping teen, and hugging a youth in a single-person restroom. Pleaded no contest 3/11/2016 to possessing child porn. Sentenced in 5/2016 to 11 months in jail and 4 years probation. Ordered to register as a sex offender. Assignments included Christ the King and St. Joseph's Mission in Oildale, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bakersfield, St. Ann's in Ridgecrest, St. Joseph's in Boron and Our Lady of Lourdes in California City. Released from jail in 12/2016. Arrested again 4/12/2017 on child porn possession. Pleaded not guilty 5/2017. Pleaded no contest 11/28/2017, sentenced to 4 years in state prison. Released 4/13/2019.

Several chancery positions. Named pastor in 2009 of Our Lady of Tepeyac in Little Village. Assiged 2015 to Providence of God in Pilsen. In residence since 7/2018 at St. Aloysius in Wicker Park. Arrested in 10/2018, charged with criminal sexual abuse involving force and battery. Accused of attacking three females, ages 17, 18 and 27, beginning in 11/2016. Faculties withdrawn.

Accused of abuse in 1970s-1980s. Abuse reported in 1992 and 1995. Placed on leave and sent for treatment. He was one of the unidentified priests dismissed from the archdiocese in 4/02 because of abuse complaints. "Countless victims," including women, and theft of money, per 2005 grand jury report. In 1996 he left treatment and went to Orlando, FL. Began living with a group of older teens and young men. Laicized 3/21/06. Named in new Grand Jury report in 2/11.

Name included on a list of accused priests with credible allegations from the San Diego/San Bernardino dioceses released by San Diego 3/30/2007. Retired in 1987. Privileges removed in 11/1998. Per personnel file released 10/25/2010, Ganahl was accused of sexually abusing four girls, who were sisters, between 1961 and 1963. They told San Bernardino in 1999 and reached a settlement. The San Diego diocese reported the abuse to police in 2002 but the family chose not to pursue criminal charges. Ganahl died 2/13/2010.

Per his personnel file, Gandara was accused in 1989 of performing sexual acts on a 16-year-old boy who was a student at St. Paul's School in Covington. Suit filed in 1989. Police filed charges. Pleaded no contest. Spent nine months in jail and was placed on probation until 1995. Left the order in 3/1994. Worked at some point in Galveston TX as a teacher at Kirwin High School. Accused, along with Bro. Richard Langenstein, in a lawsuit filed 8/7/2020, of molesting a boy in the 1980s. The boy was a student at La Salle High School.

Retired in 2002. Permanently barred from ministry in 7/2005 on previously undisclosed credible allegations of child sexual abuse. A woman settled claim with the archdiocese in 2004, alleging Gandrau abused her 30 years prior when she was about 16. Included on archdiocese's list 1/15/2016 of clergy with admitted, established or credible allegations against them of sexual abuse of a minor. Gandrau died in 2012. New suit filed vs the archdiocese 5/17/2016, claiming cover-up of alleged sexual abuse of a boy in 1967 at St. Mark's in Shoreline. The suit says Gandrau was caught with the boy by pastor Rev. Theodore Sullivan, who did not report it.

Charged in 1/2019 with sexually assaulting a girl, ages 14-17, in 1990-1994 while assigned to St. Cecilia's in Woodbridge. The girl was involved in the parish CCD program. In a secret recording and to investigators, Ganley admitted to the "sexual conduct." The abuse occurred in NJ, FL and Washington DC. He pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a minor under age 16 in exchange for a sentence of four years in state prison. He was also required to register as a sex offender. Included 2/13/2019 on the Diocese's list of credibly accused. In a 12/2019 lawsuit Ganley was accused, along with Rev. Robert Witkowski, of sexually abusing a teenage boy in the early 1990s. The plaintiff claimed the priests also abused other boys.

Named publicly as accused by the Jesuits Midwest Province on its list 12/17/2018. Multiple allegations of abuse, occurring while assigned to St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, OH 1961-1964; St. James Church in Gary, IN in 1983; and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Chicago, IL in 1993. Died 12/19/2011. The Province's 2/21/2020 revised list adds alleged abuse 1977-1978 while at Loyola University in Chicago and in 1998 while assigned to Holy Family Parish in Chicago. Included on the Chicago archdiocese's list in 10/2022. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report, which notes 6 "reported survivors." In 8/2023 a man publicly stated that Gannon sexually abused him when he was an 11-year-old altar boy in 1971, at St. Jerome's in Chicago.

Worked in the dioceses of Springfield, Chicago and Joliet IL, then St. Paul MN 1948-1959. Returned to Chicago after removal from ministry in 1960 by St. Paul. Transferred to Nashville TN; pastored parish there 1960-1974. Died 5/21/1974. A man reported abuse as a boy to the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis in 2007. No specific date was given for the abuse, but correspondence implies his history was known in 2007. Name included on the 2/17/2014 revised list of those with substantiated claims. At least one complaint in Nashville in about 2009 alleged abuse in the late 1960s. Included on the Nashville diocese's list 11/4/2021. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report. Included on the Franciscans' Our Lady of Guadalupe's list as of 1/2024.

First named publicly as accused in the 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury Report. Included on the diocese's 8/19/2018 list of credibly accused. In 1977 a woman told the diocese that her 13-year-old son had been sexually abused by Ganster. Reassigned. A 37-year-old man told the diocese in 2002 that Ganster abused him for a year and a half beginning when he was a 14-year-old altar boy at St. Joseph's in Frackville. The man again contacted the diocese in 2004. His reports were not sent to the D.A. until 2007. Accused in 2015 of abusing a 12-year-old boy in the summer of 1977. Put on sick leave in 1987, sent to St. John Vianney in Downington for treatment in 1988. Request for laicization in 1990, granted. Wanted to marry a woman he met at St. John Vianney and to work at Disney World. Diocese provided a reference for the job; Ganster worked at Disney World for 18 years. Died 7/3/2014.

Murdered in 1982 in Florida. Toledo police interviewed two youths at the Child Study Institute who said they were abused by Garand and that there were other victims. As the investigation progressed a man came forward to say that Garand had abused him between 1954 and 1958. A policeman complained in 1958 and Garand was transferred to another parish. In 4/2020 the Diocese included Garand on its list of credibly accused priests.

Extern priest from Argentina. Accused in a 2004 lawsuit of raping a 17-year-old girl in 1997. The girl worked as a part-time secretary at Holy Family Church in Wilmington, CA, where Garay was assigned. She said she became pregnant in 12/1997, the abuse continued until about 4/1998, and Garay pressured her to have an abortion. She gave birth to the child and, per the lawsuit, the Archdiocese did not inform authorities of the abuse, nor did they provide medical coverage during the pregnancy or support after the baby was born. He was returned to Argentina when the girl became visibly pregnant and was allowed parish ministry in the Diocese of Concordia. Garay was named in the 2005 Los Angeles archdiocesan report addendum. He reportedly left ministry in 2008 and married.

From Poland. Chaplain and Catholic school teacher 2012-2018. Convicted in 3/2020 of stealing over $250K from parishes and sentenced in 11/2020 to nearly 8 years in federal prison. Arrested at Seattle's airport in 2019, trying to flee to Poland. In 11/2020, Marcin was also facing federal charges of child sexual abuse and child pornography possession. Indicted. Allegedly had sexual contact with a male minor while traveling in a foreign country in 2011, and had child sex abuse images on his thumb drive.

Ordained for the permanent diaconate in 2000. Assigned to Church of the Holy Family in Albany and as chaplain at Greene Correctional Facility. Removed in 8/2010 after a credible recent allegation that he had sexually abused a minor in the early 1990s, prior to his training and ordination as a deacon. Garcia denied the allegations. Defrocked in 2010. Convicted 8/14/2014 of two counts of the sexual abuse in 2003 of a 6-year-old girl. Sentenced 9/17/2014 to 5 years in prison and 10 years of post-release supervision. Required to register as a sex offender. Garcia appealed his conviction in 2016 and was allowed to remain free pending the outcome. He was indicted in 11/2021 on two felony counts of child sexual abuse; Garcia sexually abused two girls while he was awaiting the results of his appeal. His previous sentence was extended in 5/2022 to two additional 7-year terms.

Suspended 3/16/2018 after an allegation of the sexual abuse of a minor 2014-2017, while assigned to Immaculate Heart of Mary in Roxborough. Had been assigned to the parish in 2011, after a year of personal leave. Pastor of St. Martin of Tours in Summerdale since 11/2017.  Member of the National Association of Filipino Priests. Arrested 3/4/2019, charged with rape of a teenage girl, sex abuse, corruption of a minor, and recording a sex act. May have also plied the girl with alcohol and marijuana. Pleaded guilty in 10/2023 to corruption of a minor and unlawful contact with a minor. The rape charge was dismissed in a plea agreement. Sentencing scheduled for 1/2024.

Arrived in Los Angeles in 1983 and left in 11/1985. Sued in 1988 for abuse of two boys between 1983-1986. Accused of abuse and boundary violations. Suspended by his order in 1985 and later expelled. Fled to the Philippines. Became part of the Archdiocese of Cebu. Accused again in a civil suit in 2003. Removed without privileges in 6/2012 by Cebu Archbishop on CA allegations. Also linked to ivory smuggling. Personnel files were to be released in Fall 2012. Included in 10/2021 on the Dominicans Holy Name Province list. Laicized in 2017. Died in 2021.

From Spain. Accused of molesting a girl at age 14, and raping her when she was 16, at St. Patrick's in Largo in the 1960s. His victim began having flashbacks in 2000. When she confronted Garcia, he admitted the abuse. He was removed from his post and returned to Spain. Deceased, per the FL Attorney General's report released 11/6/2020.

From Mexico. Ordained fo the Diocese of Acapulco. Incardinated into the Diocese of Sacramento in 1989. Fled to Mexico in 1995 after a dozen felony molestation charges were filed against him in Yolo and Colusa counties in CA. Mexico agreed to prosecute the U.S. charges but eventually dismissed the case. Accused in 2002 of abuse of a boy 1970-1975. Diocese settled at least eight claims. Four new lawsuits were expected to be filed in 6/2006 by men alleging abuse 1987-1994. Laicized in 10/2007. Two men filed suit 9/16/2014 in Sacramento. On Sacramento diocese's list 4/30/2019. By 2015 there were 24 known alleged male victims of sex abuse by Garcia, occurring 1973-1995. Remained a fugitive in 2021. A 25th case was reported in 2020 and a 26th in 2022.

In 11/2022 a 34-year-old man claimed in a lawsuit that Garcia sexually abused him over two years, beginning when he was an 8-year-old altar boy in the late 1990s. Garcia was assigned at the time in question to Immaculate Heart of Mary in Brentwood. The abuse allegedly included rape. Garcia retired from the parish in 2001, after 17 years. He died in 2003. He was accused in a 12/2022 suit of raping a boy, age 12, in the late 1960s, and of telling the boy he would die if he told. Another lawsuit the same month alleged abuse by Garcia of a boy in 1974. In 12/2022 there were reportedly four known accusers.

Accused of abusing several developmentally disabled patients 5/1979-8/1980 at Porterville State Hospital, where he was chaplain. Suspended in 1981. Civil litigation and criminal charges filed. Matters taken to California's Court of Appeals. Sentenced to 6 years in 1983. Onn sick leave per the 1988 Catholic Directory. Listed on the CA sex offender registry as of 5/15/2011. Included in 8/2021 on the diocese's list of credibly accused.

Monsignor. Tribunal judge, canon lawyer, moderator of the Curia, vicar general. Oversaw abuse cases. In 2017 a man told the diocese that Garcia molested him 1973-1975, when the man was a teen working in the rectory of St. Michael's in Flushing, Queens. Garcia denied the allegations. Accused in many lawsuits of covering up abuse in the diocese. The IRCP determined there was "insufficient support" to find the man's claim eligible for compensation. Garcia was not included on the diocese's list in 2/2019. In 9/2019 a second man filed suit under the Child Victims Act, alleging abuse as a boy by Garcia.

Monsignor. Archdiocesan Secretary for Hispanic Affairs. On leave 1984-2006. Laicized 1/3/2006. Died 7/29/2009. The Archdiocese knew of past abuse by at least 1988. Sued in 2003. Accused of abusing at least 12 minors 1961-1983. Included in the L.A. Archdiocesan Report in 2004. At least one claim settled as part of 2007 $660M settlement with 508 plaintiffs. Personnel files released in 1/2013 reveal that Garcia often targeted boys who were illegal immigrants, and would threaten to have them deported if they told. He admitted to having abused boys since ordination. Received treatment in NM in the mid-1980s, where he also worked. Included on the Santa Fe archdiocese's list of credibly accused in 5/2021.

Monsignor. Named in a civil suit and in the 2005 addendum to the L.A. Archdiocesan report. His accuser claimed abuse 1950-1952. Died 11/29/1972.

From Cuba. Accused in a 2007 civil suit of sexual abuse of 11-year-old boy in 1989 at St. John Bosco in Little Havana. Settled in 2009. A new suit filed in 9/2012 alleges abuse in the 1980s when Garcia was in seminary. Suspended for 10 days then returned to active ministry. Per the Archdiocese, Garcia passed a polygraph test. Accused in 10/2012 of covering up abuse by another priest. A new suit filed 10/23/2012 claims abuse beginning in 1994. Garcia denied all allegations. Removed without privileges 10/24/2012. Resigned 11/30/2012.

Worked for a year in Miami; moved to Cuba; expelled in 1969 for "serious difficulties of a moral nature (homosexuality)." Miami took him back. Accused in 1988 of sexually abusing four Nicaraguan and Salvadoran refugee boys 1983-1988. Evaluated at St. Luke's Institute in 1988; sent on sabbatical to Colombia; assigned in Honduras. The priest who replaced him at his parish told a news outlet that Garcia-Rubio was sent on sabbatical because he had just celebrated his 25th anniversary as a priest. The Miami Archdiocese removed Garcia-Rubio's faculties in 1989. He was reportedly working at a hotel in the Dominican Republic in the early 1990s and defrocked in 1999. Per the FL Attorney General's report 11/6/2020, Garcia-Rubio was known to befriend and offer help to teenage boys, mostly immigrants, withholding help if they would not provide him with sexual favors. A fifth man sued in 2004, alleging rape in 1984 when he was a refugee, age 13. Some claims settled in 9/2004. New documents revealed in 3/2010. New suits filed in 6/2010 and 2/2013. At least 11 known victims. Deceased.

First named publicly as accused on the Las Cruces diocese's list 11/8/2018. Report noted to have been made in 1996 of alleged incident in 1977. Assignments included parishes in Bayard, Hurley, Lordsburg, Fairacres and Sunland Park. Removed from ministry in 1999. Laicized in 2007. Included o the El Paso, TX diocese's list 1/31/2019, which encompassed what was established in 1982 as the Las Cruces diocese.

Br. Barton. Joined the Xaverians in 1948. Left in 1970. Named publicly as accused by the Order on its list 7/12/2019. It notes an allegation received in 2013 of abuse at a summer camp in the mid-1960s in Leonardtown, MD. Deceased. On the Baltimore archdiocese's list 7/23/2019. Mentioned in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General's Report.

Credible allegation of abuse. Name first released on list of abusive priests released by Bishop Saltarelli 11/16/2006. Died 10/10/1989. Personnel file released in 2/2012.

Ordained at age 43. In 1989 a 20-year-old man accused Garding of sexually abusing him as a boy over a three-year period, beginning during confirmation classes. Pleaded guilty; sentenced to 6 months in jail and a 10-year stayed sentence. His victim sued in 1991; suit was dismissed. Later wrote book, "My Journey Alone" about his battle to suppress homosexuality and his quest for approval and love from an adolescent male parishioner. Privileges removed in 6/2002. Died in 11/2005 after an auto accident. Name included on the St. Cloud diocese's 1/3/2014 list.

Accused in 12/1992 of sexual misconduct with St. Lawrence Seminary High School students. Charged in 1/1993 with enticing a child for immoral purposes and intimidation. A judge dismissed the case, noting evidence that Gardipee disrobed in front of the boy. A lawsuit in 4/1993 said he abused, harassed and stalked a teen; the suit expanded in 1994, accusing the Capuchins of a coverup. The suit is said to have settled and Gardipee was barred from teaching and ministering to minors. His WI teaching license was denied. Gardippe left the Capuchins in 2001 then taught at a private Hawaii High School from 2002. Went on leave in 9/2009; resigned in 11/2009. Included on the Capuchins St. Joseph Province list of those with substantiated allegations against them.

Allegations that Garduno asked an adult man to strip during premarital counseling surfaced in about 1993. Sent for treatment. Underwent a Church trial for heresy after he founded a separate Catholic sect in 1996. He was "removed from the clerical state." Arrested 12/2009 and charged with the sexual abuse of a 17-year-old boy 4 years prior and continued sale of drugs from the church. Accuser said he knew of other minor victims who had been abused at that location. Sentenced in 3/2010 to 2 years prison on drug and gun charges.

From the Philippines, where he was ordained in 1968 in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. Appears to have arrived in the Diocese of Grand Rapids in 1976, where he was incardinated in 8/2002. Died in 2010. Named publicly as accused in the MI Attorney General's 12/15/2025 Diocese of Grand Rapids Report. Per the report, in 7/2002 a man reported to the Diocese that Gargantiel attempted to solicit him for sex at age 17-18 in 1985. Gargantiel was sent for a psychological evaluation, after which was allowed ministry with supervision by the Vicar for Priests. Another man reported to the Diocese in 2/2004 that when he was in sixth or seventh grade at Holy Trinity in Alpine MI in 1978 or 1979, Gargantiel was "always trying to get the boys alone" and would take him for rides alone in the country. He said that on one occasion Gargantiel was rubbing his [the boy's] head and his [the priest's] genitals through his pants. The boy's parents told the parish pastor and Gargantiel was reassigned. One report to the Diocese alleged that Gargantiel told the alleged victim that he "could not return to the Philippines because he was a naughty boy and the government would get him."

Ordained for the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales; taught high school in Philadelphia. Incardinated in 1983 into the NY archdiocese. Placed on leave in 8/2019 due to an allegation of 'sexual misconduct.' Accused in a lawsuit filed in 7/2021 under the NY Child Victims Act of sexually abusing a boy beginning when the boy was age 15, from 1993 through 1998. The boy was a student at St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School, where Garisto was reportedly a biology teacher in the late 1980s and 1990, and a vice-principal and academic dean 1996-1998. Garisto's accuser claims that the priest started grooming him when he was in grade school and that when he left the high school after sophomore year, Garisto pursued him at his father's house in PA. Arrested 1/27/2022 on charges of sexually abusing a boy in the Philadelphia area 1995-2002, beginning when the boy was age 10. Garisto owned a home in Fishtown at the time in question. In 3/2022 the charges were withdrawn due to the statute of limitations. Arrested again in Philadelphia 5/4/2022, charged with the sexual abuse of a boy starting when the boy was a 15-year-old altar server at St. Peter's in Poughkeepsie in 2006, and ending in 2010. Family filed suit against the NY Archdiocese. Pleaded no contest in 6/2023. Sentenced 11/6/2023 to 11 and a half months to 23 months in prison and 4 years' probation.

Sister of Charity of St. Elizabeth in Morris Township, NJ. Accused in a lawsuit filed 11/24/2020 of sexually abusing a girl in her office at Immaculate Conception School several times a week, beginning in 1969 when the girl was age 8. Garner was a teacher and administrator at the school. Also accused, along with Sr. Alice Bernadette, C.S., of taking the girl in 1971 to Rev. William Dowd, and restraining the girl while the priest raped her. Dowd denied the allegations. Garner died 12/17/2014.

Removed by the Jesuits in 2007 from Holy Cross in Durham, NC after admitting to inappropriate sexual contact with five young adults, ages 18-23, in the early 1980s while in Baltimore and Philadelphia. Received therapy. In 1/2013, the Order told the Raleigh diocese of a credible complaint of abuse of a minor from the 1970s while assigned to St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia. Sent to a monitored community. Died in 2014. Name included on the Maryland Province Jesuits list 12/17/2018, which notes multiple allegations. On the Scranton diocese's list 12/22/2018. Added to the Baltimore archdiocese's list in 2/2019. On the Raleigh diocese's list in 10/2018, which notes abuse in 1970 reported in 2018. Mentioned in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General's Report.

From Ireland. Ordained in Rome before World War II. May have started as a Benedictine. Worked his first two years of priesthood in Manchester, England prior to arrival in the U.S., due to complications of WWII. Worked in the Sacramento diocese and Newark archdiocese before Trenton. Accused by a woman of repeatedly molesting and stalking her for three years late 1950s-early 1960s, beginning when she was age 11 and Garry was assigned to St. Mark's in Sea Girt, NJ. Confession was allegedly used in the abuse, and included digital penetration. Stalking and abuse allegedly continued after reassignment. Retired in 1981. Died 12/11/1988. Settlement in 12/2019 in the low six figures in case of abuse of two girls, ages 12 and 9, beginning1960 and 1961.

Accused in 1991 of 'sexual misconduct' with a 14-year-old girl in Marshfield beginning in 1963 and lasting through 1966. Trial set for 1992. Dismissed on statute of limitations. Included on the diocese's list 1/18/20. Multiple substantiated allegations noted. Removed from ministry 1/12/04. Died in 4/21.

Named publicly as credibly accused by the Jesuits Northeast Province on its list 1/15/2019, which notes allegations of abuse occurring 1978-1979 reported in 2013. Worked in Micronesia 1968-1971, 1974-1978. Did retreat work in Manhasset NY 1978-1987 then assigned to St. Ignatius Loyola parish in NYC 1987-1989, Xavier HS in NYC 1989-2002, and St. Ignatius parish again 2004-2006. Died 10/19/2011.

Newly identified as accused on the Chicago Archdiocese's list released 3/20/2006. In 11/1983 a mother expressed concern to the Archdiocese about Garza's interactions with her son. In 4/2000 the alleged victim met with Cardinal George. Garza resigned 7/1/00. In 2005 internal investigators deemed substantiated claims that Garza forced a boy to perform oral on him sex numerous times 1/1984-4/1984. Discovered by a news outlet in 9/2018 to have gone on to work as a counselor in the Beloit, WI public schools. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report. 

One of 21 priests placed on administrative leave by the Philadelphia archdiocese 3/7/2011 pending investigation for credible allegations involving sexual abuse or inappropriate behavior with minors. Last assignment was at Our Lady of Charity Church in Brookhaven, Delaware County. Allegations were substantiated in 4/2013. Gaspar was permanently removed from ministry.

Entered the Jesuit order in 1964. Accused, along with Fr. John Morse, by 15 women and 1 man of abuse when they were students at St. Mary's Mission and School on the Colville Indian Reservation in the late 1960s-early 1970s. Placed on leave at some point, required to live under supervision at a Jesuit residence. The Jesuits announced a $4.8M settlement with the 16 in 1/2008. Included on the Jesuits West Province list 12/7/2018, which notes abuse of a minor 1971-1972 at St. Mary's Mission in Spokane. On the Jesuits Midwest Province list 12/17/2018, which notes multiple allegations of abuse while assigned to St. Mary's Mission 1966-1970. Dismissed from the Jesuits 8/27/2012.

"Marty." Initially took the name "Marius." Named publicly as accused by the Santa Barbara Franciscans on its list 5/31/2019. It notes allegations of the sexual abuse of minors 1970-1979, reported in 1993 and 1995. Gates was assigned in 1970 to a Phoenix parish, then worked in the Guaymas, Mexico in the Diocese of Ciudad Obregon 1971-1999. He died in 2000. On the Phoenix diocese's list, with no known allegations there. On the Stockton diocese's list 11/12/2020, where he worked 1964-1965.

Accused in a lawsuit(s) filed under the NY Child Victims Act in 2020 of the sexual abuse of a minor(s). Educator, assigned to schools in Alfred ME, Plattsburgh and Morrisonville NY. Died in 12/05.

Entered the order in 1949. Known to have worked in Japan, the Bahamas, Haiti, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Texas. Retired in 1993. Died 6/27/2001. Included on a list of accused priests and religious posted by the Law Offices of Mitchell Garabedian on 1/19/2011. There was at least one claim with the Boston archdiocese involving allegations against Gaudin. Included on the Fall River diocese's list in 1/2021 of credibly accused.

Pastor of St. Christopher's in North Chili when placed on leave in 2/19 after an allegation that he sexually abused a St. Andrew's altar boy beginning in 1979, when the boy was age 14. Gaudio denied the allegation. Assignments also included parishes in Brockport, Auburn, Greece, Palmyra and Marion. Lawsuit filed in 8/19 under the NY Child Victims Act by a man alleging abuse as a boy in 1979; may or may not be the same accuser.

Removed from assignment at St Joseph's in Lynn as of 9/23/2012 after an allegation that he had abused a child in 2006. Placed on unpaid leave with no public ministry during archdiocesan investigation. Police were notified. Gaudreau had been at the parish since 1984, pastor since 1993. As of 9/15/2013 the District Attorney said he would not file criminal charges against Gaudreau. Resigned from parish in 11/2014; canonical process ongoing. On 9/10/2020 the archdiocese announced that Gaudreau had been found guilty by the Church of child abuse and his sentenced was affirmed by the Vatican to live a life of prayer and penance. Included on the archdiocese's list of accused.

Named publicly as accused by the Omaha Archdiocese on its list 11/30/2018. Per the NE Attorney General's report in 11/2021, a priest reported to the Archdiocese that, when he was a teenager, Gaughan sexually abused him multiple times. Gaughan left Omaha in 1999 for the Diocese of Mandeville, in Jamaica. He died in 2009 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Pastor of Most Precious Blood in Fort Wayne. The Diocese announced on 12/14/2019 that it had received a credible allegation that Gaughan sexually abused a minor over 20 years prior, while assigned to St. Anthony de Padua in South Bend. Placed on leave. Case referred to the Vatican. Added to diocese's list of credibly accused 1/18/2020.

Named in at least three 2004 lawsuits and one in 2006. Accused of abuse of numerous boys. First report of abuse received in 1948; sent for treatment. Reassigned several times. Left priesthood in 1992. Questioned several times prior to death in 5/99. At least 12 known sexual assault complaints against him by 2000. The 2006 suit was dismissed. Name on 1994 secret memo.

First widely publicized abuser. Parish priest. Diocesan Boy Scouts leader. Allegations first arose in 1983. Convicted in 1985 of the abuse of as many as 39 young children 1972-1983. Served 10 years in prison. Multiple civil suits and settlements. In 1997 pleaded no contest to abuse of a 3-year-old boy in TX. Given 7 years probation. Charged in 12/1997 with the rape of a young girl at gunpoint 20 years prior. Jailed for two years in Lafayette until the charges were dropped. As of 2008 was living near Houston TX. Arrested in 4/2008 for failing to register as a sex offender. Served two years in county jail. Released 4/23/2010. In 2014 was living in San Leon TX. Included on the diocese's list in 4/2019. Still living in San Leon. Added to the Alexandria diocese's list. Accused in a 2024 lawsuit of sexually abusing an altar boy, ages 10-12, in 1976-1977 while assigned to St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Abbeville. The boy told his mother about the abuse and church officials allegedly pressured the family into silence. Subject of a lawsuit filed in 10/2024. One of Gauthe's victims, who testified at age 11 in the 1980s that the priest had raped him, was beaten to death at age 50 in 3/2025. Two more lawsuits naming Gauthe were filed in 2025.

In a lawsuit filed in 3/2002 a man alleged that Gauthier sexually abused him many times when he was ages 9-12, during 1969-1972, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary. He also claimed that there were at least 7-10 victims. The man said he had attempted suicide 15-20 times. In 2002 Gauthier was retired. He died 5/8/2010.

Ordained for the permanent diaconate in 2020. Placed on leave in 6/2021 due to an allegation of the sexual abuse of a minor. The alleged abuse occurred "many years" prior to Gautreaux's ordination to the diaconate. Assigned to St. Bernard in Breaux Bridge.

Entered the order in 1958. Referred to as "Br. Camillus" until returning to his given name in 1965. In 12/2012 the Diocese announced a substantiated claim against Gauvin of the sexual abuse of a minor, age 11-12, occurring in the early 1970s. Assigned at the time of the alleged abuse as director of religious education at St. Thomas Aquinas in Madawaska. Gauvin apparently left Maine in 1994 when the order left. He was working as director of liturgy at Sacred Heart parish in Bloomfield CT in 2012 when placed under supervision without contact with minors. Gauvin died 11/22/2024 in Providence RI.

Named as accused on the Savannah diocese's list 11/8/2018. Joined the Trappists in 7/1947 and took solemn vows 8/15/1951. Ordained at Holy Ghost Abbey in Conyers in the Atlanta archdiocese. Released from cloister reportedly for ill health and to 'pursue his talent as a sculptor at Notre Dame.' After teaching assignments he worked in Savannah 1958-1959 as assistant pastor of St James' parish. Died at age 30 on 7/28/1959 in a fall, during a camping trip to the Grand Canyon with two 16-year old boys, one of whom also died. Included in 11/2020 on the Atlanta diocese's list of credibly accused. Included in the 3/24/2023 GA PAC Report. It shows that in 2002 a woman reported that Gavigan sexually abused her multiple times in 1959, when she was age 6 and a student at St. James Parish School in Savannah. She said Gavigan was babysitting her when he blindfolded her and stuck his penis in her mouth, and that he tried to put it into her vagina. She said the priest told her father she had been bad, so her father spanked her. (Brother of credibly accused priest P. Patrick Gavigan.)

Ordained in 1953 for the Trappists. Incardinated in 1972 into the Charlotte diocese. Retired 1992. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese on its list 12/29/2019. An allegation was received in 2002 that Gavigan sexually abused a girl in 1973 at Our Lady of Grace in Greensboro. He denied the allegation. In 2002 he was living in a nursing home in NC. Restricted from ministry to minors. Died in 2007. (Brother of credibly accused priest Eugene Gavigan.)

In 2002, a man said Gawronski molested him in the late 1970s when he was an 11-year-old altar boy. He told his parents in 1984, who went to the diocese. Michael Murphy was bishop. Sent to treatment. Diocese promised his ministry would be restricted and asked the parents not to pursue matter further. Named in the 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury Report. The Diocese knew in 1986 of alleged abuse of a 13-year-old boy 1976-1977. Confessed in 1987 to abusing up to 20 boys. Sent to Chicago for a psych evaluation. Gowronski would show the boys how to perform "cancer checks." Admitted to molesting as many as 41 boys. Active priest when removed in 3/2002. Laicized in 2006. Living in 2018 in Arizona. A lawsuit in 7/2020 claims abuse in 1983 of a 15-year-old.

Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 3/22/2019. Settlement. The list notes a single allegation, that Gay left diocesan service in 1984, his faculties were removed in 2006, and administrative leave was reaffirmed in 2019. Per a 2019 report commissioned by the Diocese, Gay sexually abused a 15-year-old boy in 1976.

In 2000 a man reported to the Diocese that when he was ages 4-5 in 1963-1965, Gaynor repeatedly sexually abused him. The Diocese told the man that Gaynor had died of AIDS in 1991. The man said he refused to sign an agreement offering counseling in exchange for releasing the Diocese from liabilities or damages. The same man came forward again in 2002.

Monsignor. Reportedly sent to treatment in Jemez Springs NM in 1958, and treated at some point at St. Vincent Hospital in MO. Died in 1978. Accused in a civil suit filed 5/30/1995 of sexually abusing a young man for several years while assigned to St. Joseph's in Lordsburg. Also accused in affidavits filed in a suit against Fr. Irving Klister of abusing at least two more youths in El Paso. Both alleged victims were students at St. Pius X School. Included on the El Paso diocese's list 1/31/2019. Added in 12/2021 to the Diocese of Las Cruces list. The Las Cruces list in 4/2026 excludes Gaynor. In 3/2024 a man filed suit, claiming abuse when he was 5 years old child by Gaynor in late 1967-early 1968.

Accused in a lawsuit sometime between 2020-2022 of sexually abusing a boy, age 11, in 1968 at Our Lady Queen of Apostles in San Jose. Geary allegedly fondled the boy's genitals and forced oral sex on him. Geary was the parish's founding pastor in 1960, remaining in that role until 1979. The parish was part of the Archdiocese of San Francisco until the Diocese of San Jose was established in 1981, the year Geary died.

Accused of sexually abusing boys with Revs. Janssen, Bass, and James W. Murphy in the early 1960s. Pornography was allegedly used. Left active priesthood in 1969. Sued in 2003. Accused of abuse. Default judgment granted against Geerts in 12/2003. Died in 2004. At least three known accusers. Included on the diocese's list of credibly accused in 7/2008. In 2018 a man stated publicly that he was abused as a child by Geerts and three other priests.

Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 3/1/2019. Allegation noted to have been made after his death. Died 3/23/1995. Per a eulogy posted online, Geiger had been a pastor, teacher, and editor of the diocesan newspaper. It alluded to his "struggle of the past nine years," and that he resisted the assistance offered by Bishop Griffin, which led to his suspension. It said the bishop lifted the suspension the day before Geiger died of cancer, at Geiger's request. Nicknamed "Gus" or "Buddy."

Suit filed by three men 5/1/2003 against the diocese alleging they were sexually abused as children in the 1970s by Geiger and another Redemptorist priest, at a Lima OH parish. The boys were ages 6-10 at time of alleged abuse. The identity of the second priest is not specified due to confusion as to his identity. When the suit was filed, Geiger was working near Charlotte NC, according to a Redemptorist source; the 2002 Directory shows him assigned to a Pennsylvania church in the Harrisburg diocese. St. James the Greater in Concord NC is a Redemptorist parish near Charlotte to the NE. The suit was settled in 2004. Geiger died 6/17/2007. Geiger's name was included on the Harrisburg diocese's 8/1/2018 list; no known allegations in that diocese.

Brother of the Missionaries of Charity, entering in 1974. From Iowa. Worked as a brother in Los Angeles, Cambodia, El Salvador and India before settling in Haiti. Left the order and founded St. Joseph's orphanage for boys in Port-au-Prince in 1985. The boys were destitute, living in the streets. Geilenfeld would take boys across the U.S. and in England for fundraising tours, in which the boys performed as a dance troupe. Allegations first surfaced publicly in 12/1995 when 8 boys on tour in Detroit told authorities that Geilenfeld sexually and physically abused them at the orphanage. Geilenfeld would also verbally abuse and threaten the boys. A judge ordered them to return to Haiti with Geilenfeld, saying he had no jurisdiction. The boys' attorney said there were allegations as early as 1987, and that boys also complained while touring England. In 2011 Haiti journalist Cyrus Sibert broke the story of allegations against Geilenfeld after a missionary contacted him. Survivor advocate Paul Kendrick, from ME, got involved; he and Sibert worked together for years to demand Geilenfeld's arrest. Dozens of boys and young men came forward. Geilenfeld was arrested in 2014 in Port-Au-Prince and spent a year in jail. The case was dismissed after 5 alleged victims did not show up for a hearing. Geilenfeld and a charity funding him, Hearts with Haiti, sued Kendrick for defamation. A jury decided for Geilenfeld, dismissed on appeal. Settled in 2019, $3M for the charity, nothing for Geilenfeld. Arrested in the Dominican Republic in 4/2019, to where he allegedly had fled from Haiti to avoid arrest there. He had also opened a home for boys in the Dominican Republic. Arrested in Denver CO 1/22/2024, charged with traveling from Miami FL to Haiti to have sex with children between 11/2006 and 12/2010. His victims were boys, ages 9-13. Pleaded not guilty in Miami federal court 2/16/2024. Ordered to be held in federal prison while awaiting trial. Found guilty in 2/2025. Sentenced in 5/2025 to 210 years in prison.

Publicly accused on the diocese's list 1/24/19. Noted to have multiple substantiated allegations against him of abuse occurring approximately 1955 and 1972-74. Geimer died in 1987.

Made perpetual vows in 1960. Taught and administered at De La Salle high schools in IL TX, MO, OH, TN, MO. Terminated from his position at Archbishop O'Hara High School in Kansas City MO in 11/2013 after a student found a "suspicious" photo involving a youth on Geimer's school computer and notified the school administrators in 10/2013. Geimer had been at the school for 28 years. The principal said the photo was disturbing enough to warrant immediate termination, even before the FBI completed its investigation. Geimer died in 1/2025.

First named publicly as accused in the PA Grand Jury report released 8/14/2018. (Named misspelled Genizer). Added to Baltimore list 9/2018. Complaint to diocese in 7/1995 that Geinzer fondled a 13-year-old boy in 1980. Kept in ministry as parish pastor. Geinzer denied the allegation in 2009, while discussing with bishop the possibility of being a cruise ship chaplain. Call to diocese in 5/2014 from a woman concerned about Geinzer's undue attention toward her 8-year-old son three years prior at Little Sisters of the Poor, where they were visiting her parents; she said more recently he showed too much attention to a 13-year-old boy at the facility. Remained a 'priest in good standing' per the diocese with documentation in 2016 stating "...he has never engaged in sexual behavior inconsistent with priestly celibacy, nor had he ever acted in an inappropriate manner with minors." On Baltimore archdiocese's list 4/24/2019. Included on the diocese's list of accused in 2019. Mentioned in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General's Report.

Accused of the sexual abuse of at least one minor. Included on the Helena diocese's list posted to its website 4/29/2015 in compliance with the non-monetary terms of the 3/5/2015 bankruptcy settlement. Geis died 7/8/1994.

Monsignor. Parish priest, Catholic Charities director 1957-1966. Retired in 1990. Died 6/18/2010, age 95. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese on its list 8/22/2019.

Accused in 1997 of taking an 11- or 12-year-old boy at St. Joseph's Orphanage in Burlington VT off by himself and pulling the boy's fly down in 1951. When the boy fled, Gelineau allegedly dragged the boy to the water and told him to put his head under and keep it there. Gelineau stayed on shore. At the time, Gelineau was a seminarian assigned to the orphanage, scene of much physical and sexual abuse. In a 1997 deposition, Gelineau stated that he remembered the boy at the orphanage. In his deposition, Gelineau also denies having any sexual contact with an altar boy in 1993. Retired in 6/1997. Died in 11/2024, age 96.

Accused in a 3/2020 lawsuit of repeatedly sexually abusing an altar boy, beginning with grooming when the boy was age 10 in 1967. Gemmet allegedly told boy that God would kill him and that he would "have to watch his parents and siblings die" if he told anyone about the abuse. After ordination Gemmet was assigned to St. Timothy in San Mateo. Per the San Jose diocese, in the 1960s and 1970s he was assigned to St. Christopher in San Jose and St. Mary in Gilroy. He reportedly worked as a seminarian at day camps in San Francisco and Redwood City. Prior to that he taught CCD at St. Simon in Los Altos. His name last appears in the 1980 Official Catholic Directory. He died in 1985 at age 46.

Ordained for the Oblates of Mary. May have been incardinated into the Manchester diocese after 1959. Had multiple short assignments 1959-1971. Died in 1971. A woman notified the Diocese in 6/2005 that she had been sexually abused by Genereux for two years while a student at Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson in 1957-1958. She told the school in 1958; he was quickly removed. Shortly thereafter, he saw her at a party and deliberately broke her arm. Two other alleged victims are also known.

Ordained for the Franciscans in 1983. Trained and worked in Boston 1979-1980 and 1989-1990. Teacher, counselor, chaplain, vocations director, parish priest. Name sometimes misspelled Genevieve. Removed from active ministry in 2002 after several allegations. A  2004 lawsuit claimed Genevive sexually abused a NY boy, including during overnight trips to Massachusetts, beginning when the boy was age 13 in 1978. Genevive was assigned to St. Anthony's in Troy NY during the time in question. The suit was dismissed in 6/2006 due to issues of jurisdiction. Genevive was arraigned in Boston in 7/2006 on charges of felony child rape of two Albany boys, one 1978-1982, the other 1987-1989. Genevive pleaded guilty in 7/2008. He was sentenced to 8-10 years in prison (suspended for 5 years). Both victims filed suit in 4/2009. Other alleged victims are known. Genevive died 11/27/2014 in Boston. He was named in a new suit in 2/2019. Another lawsuit was filed in 7/2020. Included on the Fall River diocese's list of credibly accused in 1/2021.

Named publicly as accused by the Baton Rouge diocese on its list in early 2019. Ordained in 1970 for the Diocese of Lafayette, LA. Sworn in as Lafayette police officer in 1973; had previously been a New Orleans cop. Incardinated 1978 into Baton Rouge. Spiritual Director at St. Joseph Cathedral Prep Seminary, parish priest, chaplain for the FBI. Multiple allegations received in 2/1994 and 10/2018 of abuse in the late-1970s while assigned to St. Anthony's in Darrow. Permanently removed from ministry in 1994. Died in 2016. Two new allegations received in 2/2020.

Pattern of abuse spanned Gentile's entire 30-year career. Numerous victims. Frequently took boys on overnight and longer trips even after warnings to avoid these trips. One priest wrote anonymous letter to Archdiocese in 1995 and followed through personally in 1996. Accused in 1997 civil suit of abusing two brothers in 1993-94. Suit secretly settled 2001. Placed on leave 4/02. Laicization announced 9/05. Settlements 5/17 and 10/17 as part of archdiocese's victims compensation program. In 11/17 three men received settlement of 250k each via archdiocese's compensation program. On archdiocese's list 4/26/19.

Monsignor. Per documents released in 2009, the Diocese paid two men $20K each in 2004 to settle claims of abuse in the late 1970s-early 1980s. They alleged abuse by Genuario and another priest, Frank Wissel. Money was for therapy for three years. The accusers had recently learned that the priests were still active. Genuario was vicar general of the diocese for nine years. Both priests denied the allegations. Another settlement in 1/2006. Remained a "priest in good standing" in 3/2014. Died in 6/2015. The Diocese acknowledged in 9/2019 that the allegations were credible. Per news in 9/2019, a man told the Diocese in 4/2002 that Genaurio abused him at age 13 in 1967. In 2017 another man alleged abuse as a minor in 1987, deemed credible by the review board. Settlement of $725K announced in  10/2019 with a man claiming abuse at age 11 in 1988 by Genuario. Name included on the diocese's list 1/22/2020. A 2019 report commissioned by the Diocese states there were 6 victims, all boys ages 10-14, abused 1967-1987.

Involuntarily laicized in 1998. Accused in over 87 lawsuits of raping and molesting at least 150 children. Convicted in 1/2002 of fondling a 10-year-old boy. Sentenced to 9-10 years in prison. Murdered in prison in 8/2003 by another inmate. His conviction was then removed by the court, citing a pending appeal at the time of Geoghan's death. In 2002 the Archdiocese paid $10M to settle claims brought by 86 accusers; another two dozen civil suits were still pending. Included on the Archdiocese's list of accused in 8/2011.

Monsignor. Named publicly as accused by the archdiocese on its list 4/26/19. Claims against Gerathy eligible for IRCP. Died in 2013.

Named publicly as accused by the diocese on its list 2/2019. A 3/2019 lawsuit claimed sex abuse of a 16-year-old boy in 1962 at a Vineland parish. The boy said he immediately told another priest in the rectory, who drove him - in the middle of the night - to Bishop Damiano's residence in Camden. The bishop reportedly told the boy in response to his disclosure, "Never speak of this again." Gerbino was the subject of a 2017 settlement with the daughter of a young man who was allegedly abused in the 1960s by Gerbino. The man killed himself in front of his daughter, then age 7, in 1970. Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Vineland from 1961 until his resignation in 11/1980 for "health reasons."  Reportedly removed from ministry in 1985 for "mental health reasons." Died in 2007.

Ordained in 1939 for the Diocese of Hartford CT. Auxiliary bishop of Portland ME 1966-1969, bishop 1969-1974, then Newark archbishop 1974-1986. Died 9/20/2016, age 104. Accused in a 3/2021 lawsuit of sexually abusing a girl, age 5, several times in 1976. His accuser said she and her mother lived nearby and that Gerety offered to babysit, then molested her in his Cathedral bedroom. She said Gerety told her not to tell because it would hurt her mother. Accused in a lawsuit filed 11/16/2021 of sexually abusing a girl over 5 years, beginning when she was age 5 in 1984, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

In 1997 the Baltimore archdiocese received an allegation that Gerg sexually abused a minor in the late 1960s to early 1970s, while assigned to St. Benedict's in Baltimore. Removed from active ministry in 2002, after the U.S. Bishops' Dallas Charter. Included on Baltimore's list of accused priests in 9/2002. Included in 8/2018 on the St. Vincent Archabbey of Latrobe PA Benedictines' list of credibly accused. Included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General's Report. It shows that Gerg's victim was a girl, and the abuse took place 1967-1972, when the girl was ages 13-17. She said she reported the abuse at the time to later known perpetrator priests Neil Magnus and Joseph Maskell. 

Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi in Johnstown, 11/1969-719/89, then a U.S. Navy Chaplain until he retired in 2005. Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list as of 1/16/2020. On leave pending Diocese's decision regarding the allegation(s). Died in FL 7/22/2024.

In 2020 a man reported to the Diocese that Gerl sexually abused him at age 14 in 1985 at St. Gerard Parish in Lansing MI. The alleged victim said that, with his mother's permission, he spent a night in the rectory, having been invited by Gerl. He said that Gerl gave him something to drink after which he felt paralyzed. He remembered, among other things, being naked in the bathtub with Gerl and another man, and waking up the next morning naked. He said Gerl told him not to tell his mother. Gerl had been arrested in 1977 for solicitation in a public park; he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. He was a seminarian in Milwaukee at the time. When the Milwaukee archdiocese refused his ordination, he was accepted into the Diocese of Lansing, where he was ordained in 1979. Gerl was again arrested, in 1985, for solicitation at a highway rest stop. He pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct. Placed on leave, sent to the House of Affirmation in Whitinsville MA for treatment. He was released to the Diocese of Kalamazoo, assigned as chaplain to the Sisters of St. Joseph in Nazareth MI and was allowed a position at Nazareth College. When the college closed in 1991 he transferred to St. Catharine College in St. Catharine KY, Archdiocese of Louisville. Gerl was investigated in 1995 for sexual harrassment and intimidation at St. Catharine's. He resigned with the agreement that the College would drop its investigation. In 1997 Gerl was assigned to St. Thomas More Student Parish in the Kalamazoo diocese and worked part-time at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids. There were indications that Gerl abused students at St. Thomas More, an accuser saying in 2002 "He used lies, and false information to manipulate and abuse.... ." "He is a very sick man with sadistic fetishes." Gerl retired in 2016. His faculties in the Lansing diocese were removed in 10/2018 due to a credible allegation of sexual assault of an adult male decades prior. He had been a member of the Diocesan Tribunal since 2014.

Personnel file released in 12/2002 shows claims that Ghastin molested two brothers at Christopher Columbus High School in the early 1970s. Claims were settled in 1994. Later, the oldest brother, who received $30K, died by suicide. Ghastin was removed from contact with children in the early 1990s. Last known to be working as a librarian at Mount Alvernia Friary in Wappingers Falls, NY. May have retired to FL due to ill health. Omitted from the Boston Archdiocese's 2011 database. Also worked in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Died 10/02/2013.

"Jack." Retired in 2011, in residence at Annunciation Parish, Webster Groves. Moved to Regina Cleri residence in 6/2013. Suspended 10/21/2014 due to a recent allegation that he sexually abused a minor in the early 1980s. Included on the Archdiocese's 7/26/19 list of credibly accused. Ghio died 10/22/2020.

In a 10/20/2021 letter to his parishioners, the Archdiocese announced that Ghiorso had been accused in a civil claim of the sexual abuse of a minor 30-40 years previously. Placed on leave pending investigation. Returned to ministry in 12/2021. Three suits reportedly were filed by 6/23/2022. One claims Ghiorso plied an altar boy with wine and raped him at St. Vincents School for Boys for a year beginning in 1989. Another suit, filed in 4/2022, claims Ghiorso raped a boy multiple times at St. Vincents 1988-1991, beginning when the boy was age 10. One accuser said he reported the abuse at the time to the school and was then placed in a foster home. Ghiorso's attorney denied the allegations. In 4/2024 Ghiorsi remains in active ministry.

From Italy. Named publicly as accused by the Raleigh diocese on its list in 10/2018. The list notes that sexual abuse occurring in 1977 was reported in 2004; further, Ghisalberti was suspended, and a Vatican petition was in progress. He died 10/19/2020. Per his obituary, Ghisalberti started his priesthood in the Diocese of Greensburg PA, moving in 1975 to the Raleigh diocese. He earned a Law degree in 1981 and practiced law while pastor of Christ the King in Riegelwood. He had been married for 32 years at the time of his death.

Named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its list 9/5/2019. It notes a single substantiated allegation. Giacopelli died in 2018.

Arrested in 1984. Confessed that he had molested a teenage boy for several years while assigned to a parish in Chandler AZ. Pleaded guilty in 1985 to attempted sexual misconduct with a minor; sentenced to 1 year in jail on work furlough and 5 years probation. Registered sex offender. Laicized in 1992. Moved to FL. Named in other civil suits in 1993 and 2003. Married, the father of a son, and living in Ft. Myers, FL when arrested again in 12/2002 for the abuse of a boy, age 16, in 1979 in Phoenix. After the incidents, Giandelone was quietly transferred to the parish in Chandler AZ, where he also abused. Convicted in 2003. Sentenced to 1 year, 10 months in prison and 3 years probation. Civil suit filed 3/2004. Included on the Phoenix diocese's 10/2019 list of accused. Moved at some point to Austin, TX, where he died in 1/2023.

Removed from ministry by order in 1992 after archdiocese reported complaints. No report to police. Sent for treatment and assigned to office work. Retired. Publicly accused in 2006 of abusing two male students multiple times in the 1960s at St. Patrick's Elementary School in Milwaukee. Transferred in the 1970s to an all-girls school in the Chicago area. Indicted on two felony counts in 12/2006. Admitted to other victims. Sentenced in 2/2008 to 1 year in jail, 9 years probation. Released in 4/2009. Civil suit filed in 5/2009. Died 4/18/2011 in Omaha.

Removed from ministry in 1992. Sued in 10/2002. Accused of abuse of boy at Mary Queen of Heaven parish in Elmhurst and at St. Francis of Assisi in Bolingbrook. Suit dismissed in 2004 on statute of limitations. Included on the diocese's list of credibly accused in 4/2006. Another suit filed in early 2006; dismissed in 11/2006 on statute of limitations with option to refile amended complaint. Named in new suit filed 5/15/2013. Diocese agreed to release of personnel files 3/2013 as part of settlement in Rudofski v Joliet & Bennett. Files released 4/30/2014. Named as 1 of 5 priests in a $4.137 million settlement in 4/2015. Laicized in 2011. Died in 2020. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report, which notes 12 "reported survivors."

Accused in a claim settled in 11/2022 in the mid-five figures of sexually abusing a girl, age 12, in 1961. Gibbons was assigned to St. James in Medford at the time in question and the girl was a student at the parish school. Gibbons allegedly fondled the girl's breasts over her clothes.

Multiple accusers. Accused of abuse in 1979. Transferred. Accused of abuse of an 11-year-old boy for six years. Two civil suits filed in 1993; one was dismissed, one settled in 1998. Termed Joliet diocese's most notorious abuser. Accused of abuse in Lombard, Lockport and Glen Ellyn. Removed from ministry in 1992. No criminal charges filed. Left priesthood in the 1990s and later married. Removed from position as a counselor in St. Louis in 2002 pending investigation. Included in 4/2006 on the diocese's list of credibly accused. Named in new suits filed by a man in 6/2012 and by another man in 6/2013. Diocese agreed to release of personnel files in 3/2013 as part of a settlement in Rudofski v Joliet & Bennett. Files released 4/30/2014. Named in a $4.137 million settlement involving five priests in 4/2015. Laicized in 2022. Included in the 5/23/2023 IL Attorney General's Report, which notes 13 "reported survivors."

Monsignor. Included in the MI Attorney General's Report in 10/2022 as the subject of allegations of child sexual abuse. Allegedly abused a Cuban refugee boy and other children who were living at Holy Family Home Orphanage in the late 1950s-early 1960s. Gibbs died in 1988.

Joined the Midwest Capuchin Franciscans in 1978. Professed final vows in 1982. Identified in the 6/18/2013 Report of the Audit and Review of the Files of the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph as a former friar with confirmed reports of the sexual abuse of minors. Gibeault's name is included on this list without any additional information on claims against him except that he was the subject of confirmed reports of inappropriate sexual behavior at St. Lawrence Seminary. He was restricted from ministry and then left the order. Per the Province's list in 8/2025, Gibeault was on medical leave 1993-1997 and received a dispensation from Rome on 3/18/1998.

Assigned early in his priesthood to North Arlington and Rutherford NJ. At Seton Hall Prep 1961-1988 as a teacher and athletic director;he was headmaster 1969-1980. Briefly assigned to a parish in River Edge, then pastor of St. Joseph in East Orange 1989-2000. Arrested in Canada in 7/2002 with another priest in a male prostitution sting allegedly involving minors. Placed on leave/retired by the Archdiocese. Charges against Giblin were dropped in 4/2003 for lack of evidence; the other priest was convicted. Assisted at Holy Rosary in Edgewater until 2010. Died 5/13/2011. A former Seton Hall student filed suit, claiming abuse by Giblin and Rev. Robert Gibney in the 1960s. The suit was ongoing in 10/2017. Included 2/13/2019 on the Archdiocese's list of credibly accused.

Died in 2012. Accused in a civil lawsuit filed 8/7/2014 of sexually abusing a boy at Sacred Heart School and Parish in Vailsburg 1961-1963. The suit settled in 11/2014. A second man alleged abuse at St. Catherine's in Cedar Grove. Gibney's name was included 2/13/2019 on the Archdiocese's list of credibly accused.

Allegations first made public by the diocese in 9/08. Named in the 8/14/18 PA Grand Jury Report. Accused in 1/95 of the sexual abuse of a boy, age 14, in 1975. He admitted the abuse and was sent to St. John Vianney in Downington for evaluation and treatment. Victim sued. Settled for $30K. Placed in 8/95 in residence and under supervision at a parish rectory. In 1997 a woman complained that Gibson was grooming her son. GIbson was sent again to Downington. Placed 2/1/98 at St. John Vianney Renewal Center in Dittmer, MO. Faculties removed. Allegation the same month of abuse of his minor nephew. Three more men came forward with allegations, in 4/02, 10/05 and 7/07. One said the abuse occurred 1973 through 1974. Gibson died in 2012. On diocese's list 8/19/18.

From Belgium. Arrived in HI as a missionary in 1926. Per Attorney Jeff Anderson, Gielen was accused in a 2016 lawsuit of sexually abusing a minor in the early 1960s, while assigned to Sacred Hearts in Lanai City. Gielen died at age 80 in 1977.

Ordained for the Archdiocese of Newark NJ in 1950. Transferred to the Harrisburg PA in 1982.  Retired in 1989; returned to NJ. Allegation in 1992 to the Harrisburg diocese that Giella had abused a child beginning in 1983. Arrested in NJ in 7/1992, indicted for child molestation and child porn. Pled not guilty to sex assault of an 11-year-old girl. Family filed lawsuit. He died in 5/1993, before he could be tried; suit settled with the diocese for $900K. Other women called news outlets saying they had been abused as minors in NJ in the 1960s by Giella. A PA woman filed suit in 2001; that and two other claims settled later in 2001. In 7/2018 two sisters alleging abuse through the 1980s by Giella asked a court to lift a gag order that was part of prior settlements with their other sisters. Accused of abuse of 5 girls in their family, one beginning at age 18 months. Name included on the Harrisburg diocese's list released 8/1/2018. On Newark's list 2/13/2019. The five sisters filed suit in 12/2019. Settlement of a claim in the low-to-mid six figures in 7/2023 that Giella sexually abused a boy, age 11-13, during 1984-1986. The abuse allegedly occurred at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Enhaut PA, where Giella was assigned.

The Phoenix Diocese announced in 3/2014 that the Claretians had recently revealed a credible allegation against Gielow involving the sexual abuse of a minor in the late 1970s. Assigned to Sacred Heart Parish in Prescott 1960-1966. Also spent time at CA State at Los Angeles and East Los Angeles Colleges before becoming chaplain of the Newman Club at Southwest Texas State Univ (San Marcos) 1969-1975. Also worked at the Cursillo Center, later known as the Mount Claret Retreat Center, 1/1976-6/1980. Died 06/29/1980. Included on the Phoenix diocese's list of accused. Added to the Gallup diocese's list of credibly accused in 10/2025.

First named publicly as accused by the Diocese on its 9/18/2018 list. Noted to have three credible allegations against him, all received after his death. The Diocese's list in 9/2021 shows five credible allegations. Retired in 7/1982. Died 4/24/2000.

Included on the diocese's list 7/31/2020 of those with substantiated allegation(s). Left ministry in 1974. Laicized 1/4/1975.

A man filed suit in 6/2002 alleging that he was abused at ages 7-11 by both Fr. Giesler and Fr. Thomas Casper. The man said he told his grandmother and she sent him to live elsewhere. Giesler died in 1999. Included on the archdiocese's list in 2019.

Accused in a lawsuit filed in 5/21 under the NY Child Victims Act of sexually abusing a 9-year-old boy in 1976-77 at St. Athanasius in the Bronx. Gigante's accuser claims the priest forced him to perform oral sex during bible study. Accused in another 2021 lawsuit of the sexual abuse of a girl, age 10, in the early 1960s. Gigante died in 10/22. He left millions of dollars to a son he had while a priest.

Gil arrived in the San Bernardino diocese from Canada in 1987. Accused in 1993 of sexual misconduct with a boy in 1987. Faculties removed. Treated in California at a facility run by the Servants of Paraclete for "sexual identity issues." Admitted during counseling that he had sexually abused a child. Left after about two weeks because he said his therapist was ineffective. Said San Diego Bishop Gilbert Chavez helped him find a job in Mexico. No criminal charges. In active ministry in the Diocese of Ensenada at a Tijuana parish in 2002. Included on the San Bernardino diocese's list of credibly accused 10/9/2018, which notes that police were informed in 2002, and that Gil was removed from the priesthood.

Arrested and charged in 2000 with 14 counts of indecent solicitation of a child and other crimes, including sodomy, of a 14-year-old boy at Thomas More Prep-Marian High School 1993-1994. Pleaded guilty in 2001 to 3 counts; sentenced to at least 32 months in treatment at Vianney Center in MO and 5 years probation. Lawuit filed in 2001 in TX. Dismissed and refiled in KS. Settlement announced 12/2001. School paid $30K. Family also settled with insurance co. and Diocese in confidential settlement. Living with Order in St. Louis 12/2006. Registered as a MO sex offender. Last known address per a 11/2017 internet search is RECON/Wounded Brothers Project in Robertsville, MO. Included on the Capuchin Province of Mid-America list 3/1/2019.
